NOTES:
"Today is a good day to remain grounded"

"Are you ready to ROCK?!"

The earth element has a strong thematic connection with permanents and pillars and pendulums.
This card is meant to exemplify that by allowing decks that include it to hold an increased number of pendulums and pillars without causing late game cluttering issues.

The unupgraded version has a significant double edge since it will also benefit your opponent.
The upgraded version, however, only affects your pillars.

The low cost is meant to allow this to be splashed as an off element card into other decks to promote its utility as a deck clutter reducer.
Hopefully this will help players build somewhat larger decks by reducing how strongly pillars contribute to deck clutter. This should be quite useful since most decks contain about 1/3 pillars.

Ideally, this ability will affect pendulums as well, but there simply isn't space in the card text to state that explicitly. I leave it up to the community to decide if that is acceptable or if the effect should stay limited to pillars and towers only.

e.g. The earthquake card gets away with affecting both pillars and towers without stating towers explicitly, but it does include pendulums in its wording.

So unupgraded this card hastens both players and you pay for it? ಠ_ಠ

Yes... So if you are using a stall-deckout strat that might be a good thing ;)

This is also in the same element as EQ and trident's activation cost, so it might just help you make more efficient use of those.
E.g. they either play them to keep up with you in the short term but loose many pillars at once or hold back and let you take the lead in terms of card advantage. I.e. pillars are essentially 'free' cards in terms of deck space, but only if they get played. Otherwise, they will still clutter up a player's draw.

So even with this downside, there are still strategic advantages if you build a deck around them.

Same thing for shards of bravery. Also when facing pillarless decks (yes I know they're rare) I don't think the opponent gets anything out of this.

I think affecting pendulums is a good idea. Most people use pendulums in their deck as Earthquake insurance, so it would be pretty limiting if this card couldn't affect them.
How wonderful that we have met with a paradox.

its not the same like playing SoBra, SoBra gives you the initiative by letting you use the drawn cards first in the same turn and also soft counters decks that need to gather quanta slowly to establish their wincondition. SoBra thus gives a slight tempoadvantage to you. Here the opponent is more likely to get the extra draw first (the pillar comes from deck and they get to draw first after you end your turn). Imo unupped is unuseable and is no better at forcing deckout than sobra when played against a smart player that holds the right cards back. there is of course the possibility to use a different card to mark cards(pillars) in your deck/hand only and turn this into a if you draw a pillar draw another card (only card in the set right now that would do that well is the poltergeist and that encourages to run lots of weapons instead). You could also modify active to affect target deck instead of both. But upped is definitely less niche, though probably too slow to matter as well (you need to draw 3 with it for it to be worth it). I would suggest giving it another effect to help it, but card text length...
Maybe this card could  be much more effective at marking cards, synergizing with the other cards in the set?

Would it help if the unupped  marked cards in each hand instead of each deck? That would allow a little more control over timing.
