It wouldn't matter, as it would kill the opponent quite quickly. Potentially OP.

Since Gaea is Earth or something, a card named this should be an earth card that generates permanent-clones of dying things!
Then you special summon Ruby Carbuncle use this card's ability: sacrifice target permanent-clone to summon the original creature!

Looks legit.  The upgrade seems like it should be a little more expensive, since it singles out the advantageous side.  Also, a very strong synergy with mutation trolling.

I like it. It's simple and makes sense.

The theme works but I think the more common way to spell the word is "Gaia".

What I don't like is the fact that it doesn't stack, which is something all cards should do imo. This could be fixed by adding a duration, like suggested before, which would would make it pretty much perfect.

I agree that it is too strong as a permanent, another option besides a duration is to have charges like Bone Wall, say 3, and each time it saves a creature you lost a charge.  I think this would work better than a duration because you couldn't abuse it with Sparks, for example.
