A simple way to balance the game: If a creature is frozen, it unfreezes at the beginning of your turn, not at the end.

But if it unfroze at the beginning of the turn, it'd be harder to keep track of when we should freeze it again before it's able to use it's ability. >.<

i agree completely and you should be able to use its ability when it unfreezes as well to make endless congeals actually be beatable...

If you were to freeze it again, just do it on your turn. This just makes it so you can actually use your creatures that have been frozen.

That would actually cut a turn from freeze/congeal.

It's not like they are overpowered or something.

Just play more creatures, you'll over-run your opponents congeals quickly!

Assuming you don't die first.

More offense, less defense! ;D

Seriously, though-

Having a creature stalled 3-4 turns won't kill you. There are so many ways around it, I really don't believe people are now thinking freeze is overpowered and needs a nerf.

most succesful decks nowadays run more defense/spells than actual summonable creatures

That's because it's currently the only way to survive against the FGs life/card drawing advantages.

Against T50/the few PvP I might play, the faster the better. Not that you shouldn't have any defense, but more offense is generally better.

yes but gods use congeal as well  ;)

not many good decks the center around offense have a great deal of creatures, probably graboid speed has the most, but they would be centralized around 4-6 heavy hitters, and carrying 6 congeal is more than enough to deal with those

Congeal doesn't "deal" with them. Otyugh, fire bolt, ice lance, gravity pull, plague, etc "deals" with them. Congeal just pauses them a few turns.

Though with Speed Poison, those four turns make all the difference.

Everything in the game is conditional. There are decks that walk all over speed poison. Just because it's a cornerpiece of one strategy that's effective against the AI (poison) doesn't make it OP and needing a nerf.

it not just speed poison, its the endless loop of squids with heavy armor
