Works like Nymph's Tears but for Shards
SERIES:
N/A
The name and cost are up for debate. And, of course, the element. Nymph's Tears is :water but what would a Shard maker be?
I was thinking maybe Fragmentation and then making it :entropy

Element
Shard Name
Card Description
:aether
Shard of Conscience
Halve your opponent's quanta storage capacity down to a minimum of 10 quanta, 8 if your mark is :aether.
:air
:darkness
Shard of Void
Reduce your opponent's max health by 2 HP per turn. 3 if your mark is :darkness
:death
Shard of Sacrifice
Inflict 40 (32) damage to yourself and remove all but your :death quanta. Swap damage with healing. Lasts 2 turns.
:earth
:entropy
Shard of Serendipity
Add up to 3 random (upgraded) cards to your hand. The first one will be a :entropy card.
:fire
:gravity
:life
Shard of Gratitude
Heal yourself for up to 3 HP at the end of every turn. 5 if your mark is :life.
:light
Shard of Divinity
Add 16 HP's to your maximum health. 24 if your mark is :light.
:time
Shard of Readiness
The target creature's skill cost is now zero. :time creatures can also use their skill twice this turn.
:water
Shard of Patience
Your creatures do not attack this turn and gain +1/+0; :water creatures +2/+2; +4/+4 if in a flooded area.

well pressure makes precious gems we associate shards with.  This pressure is most similar to :gravity or maybe :earth thematically.

Brilliant idea.

Unupped is lolworthy and this needs to cost more than the shard itself (maybe 8?) but the idea seems good.
"Carbon Compressor" as :earth?

The balancing of the card will probably have to come after we know what all the shards do.

:earth with Carbon Compressor might work, although I'd probably change the name to just Compression.

Don't forget thought that these are Shards not crystals. So the crytals are already there, these are just shards that broke off, right?

Holy crap. Now we can have 12 SoGs like the Arena decks??!!

The old Shards are getting 'adjusted'

So what if they are? The new one is broken beyond belief!

Then this card will be adjusted accordingly.

I added the shards that have been released and will continue to update as they come out. As they do, we can start to adjust this card to be balanced.

Nice concept, but i think it needs a sacrifice, like Nymph Tears, to let the player chooses the shard type.
But with a sacrifice, it should be played automatically (instead of added to hand), or cost very little (and added to hand).

It would still make sense to use it on a pillar - you shatter the pillar to get a shard. ::)

I wanted it to work based off of your mark, since Nymph's Tears already uses Pillars/Towers.

I figured with it not having to sacrifice anything, then putting it in your hand instead of using it would be a better option.

may want to fix the name for :water shard

Thanks, I must have done the cards with healing right before that one lol

Well, basing it on your mark will always give you the shard at its full potential, but limits the player choice.
On the other hand, this version could work alone, even on a pillarless deck, but only produces a single shard.

The current version has the only use of reaching 12 shards of a type. If i need up to 6, i will pack normal shards instead of this card (given that i own those shards, which i suppose are rares).
The sacrifice version can be used to have versatility, and produce the shard that i need at the moment. I don't know what is best, i'm trying to examine pros and cons.

You do make some good points. It'll stay open for discussion until all the shards come out, most likely. So keep those ideas coming. :D

What about a mine of some sort with a chance to get shards, pillars, but mostly quanta of 1 type per use.

I feel it should cost slightly more. Paying 3 :entropy and then a few more for a shard sounds like a steal in my opinion.

I'll probably switch it to Pillar instead of matching your MARK

if you do that, then it was my idea first ;)

I actually thought of both of them, and we were still discussing the pros and cons of each.

1) i was teasing 2) "still discussing" is probably a stretch haha

Well, if we came up with it, it means it's a good idea. :D

Combine your ideas. "Choose a pillar/pendulum, and if it matches your mark, place a shard matching that in your hand or field". Hooray! Now both sides are happy!

That sucks though. Too limited.
