Also, this screams "mindgate"

Maybe I'm off but here's how I see it playing potentially:

Have Mindgate in play, use "Forward" to put one Nightmare from your hand on top of opponents library, use Mindgate to get it back after putting it there, playing the Nightmare thus keeping them from drawing the Nightmare you just put on their deck. Rinse and repeat. Lock down.

Have Mindgate in play, use "Forward" to put one Nightmare from your hand on top of opponents library, play a second one from your hand, keeping them from drawing the Nightmare you just put there. Rinse and repeat. Lock down.

My mistake will fix soon.

And yeah you get the basic concept of the combo. Use forward to stick a nightmare in their hand, get ti back via mind gate, then use it on a creature to stop their draw, now for 2 per turn you have completely locked their draw =D

Yes, even though Forward and Nightmare seem at the outset to be similar, they function much differently.

A thought occurred to me- will Forward be too specific in function? What other uses do you foresee with it other than combo'ing up nicely with Mindgate?

Denying draw, putting useless cards into your opponents hand, Sticking un-upped shards or relics in there for lockdown. Probably the first.

Yeah, I can see the denial bit, but it seems too situational as an one-time effect. Maybe a secondary effect of some sort? Like "Draw a card" after using it?

Also, the notion of making relics useful is hilarious! I would so put mine to use if this card were to be in game just to say I have a relic deck

LOL yah me too. But I would up my relics to make them SHINY

Well they will just draw the card you put in there hand. you can use it to multiply your mindgates exponentially.
