I like the mechanic, but it may cost too much, especially 2 off-color quanta for shuffling your deck.

I agree - make piped have cost of one :entropy?

Like this card idea. I'm not convinced that it costs too much...being able to reshuffle your deck AFTER seeing the next three cards is a pretty significant ability, especially in a time deck with hourglasses. Mid-game with a couple of these on the board and a few hourglasses would be pretty awesome.

So, overall a decent idea? Just a minor discussion over balance. Balancing experts please address this.

I don't think the :time :time to view the top three cards of your deck is necessary - the duo is potentially inefficient as it is and it doesn't give you card advantage in any form. (I would rather pay +1 :time for Golden Hourglass as it currently is than an extra :entropy :entropy each turn for a shuffled deck.)

I would change it to:
"Each turn, you may view the top 3 cards of your deck.
:entropy :entropy - Shuffle your deck."

On the other hand, depending of your quanta production, this can be used as a central card. It can also be used together with hourglasses to effectively choose which cards of your deck get drawn (specially with more than a fortuneteller) and this should be something expensive.

So is it better with an activated switch mechanic, or  as Zblader suggests to be able to do it any time.

I think the inefficiency adds to the balance.

I think the alternating skills is unnecessarily complex.

I would change it to:
"Each turn, you may view the top 3 cards of your deck.
:entropy :entropy - Shuffle your deck."

Um, how would that type of functionality work, assuming it's not an activation of Fortuneteller's ability?

For the thematic:
How about making the fortune creature being :entropy and the precognition like/time control ability be :time?

Curious as to this as well...

One is a passive and the other is an active ability? Ofc this would mean that peeking your own deck is not lobotomizable. I prefer this version than the original. The fact that you can look at your top cards only once per turn avoids some types of abuse of this ability (if you get out more than one fortuneteller)

Yesyes, I was asking how you would activate the ability. :P IMHO, it seems like a design oversight.

I am thinking an eye icon over then deck indicating that the skill can be used.
