What if instead of just letting you out-right draw new cards, it discards your hand and lets you draw up to 2 cards for every 1 that was discarded?
It does provide card advantage still, but in a way that sets it apart from times draw theme. (i.e. you have to give up cards to get more new ones)
Sort of like trading in old ideas to come up with better ones. That has a more aether like feel to me at least.
Plus, it fits your idea of "Flux" very well.
