NOTES:
New twist on the 'steal creature' concept. The idea is that you have this guy who attacks with a chain and blade weapon, but if he wants, he can pull another creature to him with it. Then he can't attack because his weapon has something caught in the blades, and it can't attack because it's caught in the blades. Genius, no?

Primarily useful for removing a big creature from your opponent's field, also can be used for getting accel/GP targets, or nabbing abilities in a specialized rainbow. Also functions as a mid-range attacker unupped Gravity sorely lacks, and RTing this after it's used it's ability would just be dumb, so it acts as anti-RT in that respect. Also, against Antimatter, you could theoretically use this on your own creatures and nullify it. So basically a couple good uses and a lot of novelty uses - but that's not a bad thing.

Almost certainly imbalanced, I never get balance right the first time. But the idea is there. Kusari is simply Japanese for chain, from what I understand. I'm on a bit of a Japanese kick lately.

I'll work on art soon (probably) :3

8|7 :gravity + 1 turn + 1 card for an instant kill (no death effect) and two 0-atk creatures, and one of them gets the removed creature's ability/ies.

Seems balanced to me; with some effort, one could make a steal-chain deck, that would be cool

Hmmm, notes are a little confusing. Does this creature become unable to attack after using the hook ability, or is it just a 1 time ability?
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is
kill -9 `ps l | awk '{print $2" "$3" "$9}' | grep "Z" | awk '{printf("%s ",$2)}'`

I'm pretty sure it's still able to attack, but it loses the ability and its attack is 0.

Just a note: What's the point of a creature steal if all you get is the ability? Is the instant kill effect supposed to be the main feature?

One time use, which is why the ability says 'Lose Hook'.

I'm sensing a yu gi oh reference.
Other than that, I remember that Zanzarino said graveyard functions and cards that allow you to control opponents monster were a no no.
On that point, this has a decreased chance to be added.
I like this card but I find that the function is already in the game.

*In the voice of Joey Wheeler* I summon ... Buster Blader, and equip him with KUNAI WITH CHAIN!

Lol.

Ya, I was thinking exactly the same thing myself when I first saw the topic.

I like this card but I find that the function is already in the game.

I think being able to disable the opponents creature is the main difference here. PU gives you an exact copy but the original stays where it is. This one actually steals it away.
So this card serves a quite different role.
Having this as a creatuer also helps mitigate an effective instant kill like effect because you would have to wait 1 turn before you can use the ability.
Finally, it is well priced so it would be difficult to abuse via fractal or mitosis.

I think its pretty well put together

On a different note, could you target your own creatures with this card? I.e. if someone popped AM and Liquid Shadow on my Colossal dragon, could I use this to negate its attack? That would most definitely set it apart from PU.

The idea actually started with a random doodle, which I realized after a while did indeed remind me of Kunai with Chain X) The reference was not intentional, however.

Yep, I think you could target any creature with this, even your own.

I think this is an excellent card idea then. Its a good mid hitter for gravity since its cost relative to colossal dragon is low enough to make it a very good alternative. Its ability is also quite unique and seems fairly well balanced (which is tricky for what amounts to an "instant kill" type effect).

I can't rate this card for some reason but I think it earns its five stars.

I also cannot rate it, but I would if I could.

As an aside, if a creature is entangled in a chain, would it still be airborne? IMHO, I think a creature stolen by this card would lose any airborne status.
On that note, would any other statuses (poison, adrenaline, etc) be kept or would they be erased? I'm not sure it would make a difference, but Antimatter or Acceleration may come into play here.

I think acceleration is an active ability, which seems to be kept. The notes in the OP indicate that this is part of the intent.
AM is completely negated since this ability sets both attack values to 0.

The poison and adrenaline statuses may be very important, however, since if the target is poisoned and hit with adrenaline when it is chained, it would end up dying on you very quickly (I think it would actually end up getting hit 5 times by poison because creatures with 0 ATK "attack" five times with adrenaline if I remember correctly)

One intersting note: Nightfall / Eclipse interaction is something to consider. Right now, it seems to be added in on top of other modifiers (notably burrow). So, if you chain a devourer and then play nightfall, would it end up with an ATK of 1?

Also, what happens if you cast blessing or momentum on this creature or its victim after using the hook ability? I.e. Do the ATK values stay forcibly clamped at 0 or can they be raised by buff cards?
