Exisiting Card Rework Competition. Minor Vampire/ Vampire https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=2737.msg22847#msg22847

So I thought I should give it a shot, and here it is although the healing of a vampire is now gone it is possible to recoup that in spades by turning the other creatures into heal creatures on the oppositions side (is a 12/12 Dragon would become a -2/2 Minor Vampire and heal you on each turn).

I am unsure as to the exact workablity of the 50% ratio and have considered whether or not that should be removed and just have a 100% hit ratio but unsure as yet.

Thanks for your time

Sounds way too powerful.

Also, the healing was an important part of this card. No support

Yes I understand that and am glad that you have been able to give your opinion.

In what way too powerful may I ask?

I also run a dark deck that requires Vampires to heal me and I thought that even with this change I would still be able to gather healing at a fair rate as it would require the enemy to destroy their own creatures to stop me healing (at the moment one good Rain of Fire and most Vampires are dead)

Thanks for the comments

it has no limitation as to what it can eat, only a miss chance that you were thinking of removing. 50% is way too high, not too low. can you imagine a mono dark deck with six of these? especially with no miss chance? nothing would stay on the board.

also it eliminates any opponents strategy for playing out creatures. against devour and paradox you know what's going to get eaten so you can hold and play creatures accordingly. against this, you can only hold everything, or play them and cross your fingers.

I see now thank you for the clarification.

I can now notice the fallacies in these cards and although at first out set they had good abilities I can recognise that these could become detrimental over time.

I would propose that a limit to defence be added (maybe equal to or less than Hp is a good start) although this would severally limit the cards attributes. THe other option is to use the 5 or less Hp ruling on the creatures you can target.

As to the proability maybe it can be lowered to 33% and then it would give less of a chance of being so brutal to people.

Thanks again for the advice and constructuve pointers.

33% is still high. 20% would be good imo.

Meh, if I want my creatures to turn into more creatures, I'll make a Zombie card and have done with it.  Its not a bad idea, but I like the Vampires the way they are, and I don't think that every card needs to be able to convert others.

Wait, wait, wait. Opponent creature turns into a Minor Vampire/Vampire without bite, right?

Yeah I considered that but I thought that leaving the opponent vampires with bite would be more fun.

As to the zombies yeah it would proably be a better idea to build the skill into a whole new card but I thought I would give it a go anyway.

Thanks

Percentage chances are annoying, and to be honest, a cop out when trying to balance a card.

Maybe add "Target's HP has to be lower than Vampire's AP, Vampire gets +1/+1 for successful convert".

With Eclipse it isn't bad.

Not that I like the idea. Too many "turn thing into more of itself with ability" in here.

Honesty is always good and yes I believe so as well but unfortunately this card seems doomed from the start.

It was more of a fun idea to work on rather than an exclusive finished product and now I see that there is a lot to work on.

I will be reworking them to try and see what happens with them and prehaps offer them as a new card instead which will have all of what you have suggested and hopefully be more balanced

Thanks
