NAME: Extinction ELEMENT: Death COST: 21 TYPE: Spell ATK|HP: TEXT: Destroy all copies of target creature and its card. Consumes all your remaining Death quanta.

ART: None Yet IDEA: dracomageat NOTES: This removes all copies of the creature from play and all copies of its card from players hands and decks. As such, it has uses as a deck depletion card, as well as for creature removal but be warned, it will take cards from your deck too if you have that creature. Interactions with existing cards: -Death effects (such as Boneyard and Soul Catcher) will trigger before the quanta drain and will only trigger off the creatures in play. -Phoenixes outside of play cannot form ash but those in play can. This means that they will require a double killing. -Killing a living weapon will also destroy all other cards with the same name (ie. pre-flying copies). Non-living weapons will not trigger death effects, even if they are in play. -Killing a mutant will destroy all cards of the same name, mutant or not, and will not harm differently named mutants. i doubt this will every be put into the game. zanz is REALLY picky about insta-kill cards. and this one is very powerful. most of his insta-kill cards requires another card to combo with it, otherwise its almost useless. this takes no combo, its just as you see it and thats bad

Insta-kills are powerful and hard to balance, as they don't take in HP. This in particular can really sting, since I could cast this on a Ray of Light or a Lava Destroyer to instantly sink whole decktypes. It's an interesting concept, but it needs balancing.

Thinking about it, the cost really needs to go up as it is indeed a deck wrecking card with even a single use.
Furthermore, it needs some clarification on the interaction with soul catcher. I would say that you do gain quanta after the loss but only for the creatures destroyed, not the cards in deck or hand.

And I think that completes the list.

I see this as a potential 'title' for this card as Game Finisher (similar to OHKO).
But, and I'm not sure if this was intentional or not, this effects you too, so it has a nerf to itself.
Lastly, I don't think I'd much enjoy playing against this card. Such a big effect in this card's case will be a major morale crusher.

Pharaoh and FFQ will require two uses as this does not prevent new spawn but yes, this would be a massive metagame changer. Do note though that this card works on names and most upped cards have a slight name change to their unupped counterparts.

Yes, this is designed to have that drawback of hitting you, it has been in the notes since the beginning.
It's not a major downside but it adds a bit ore thought to both deck construction and the actual playing of the card.

And then everyone will be making decks against this card, instead of as they were. I don't think it's a good thing to have to always be in fear of a card.

The cost of the card should allow most decks to get a fair amount of damage in before it wrecks their plans and slower decks tend not to be heavily creature based. I'm not sure how quickly 18|16 death can be gained though, it might need to go up another 8 or so if that is too low.

lol, i just thought of something after i thought of how easy it is to get 20+ death quanta in one turn.
what is prioritized: the quanta drainage, or the quanta boost from spirit catcher?
