Energy Shield / Energy Field

This is Icybraker here, posting his shield to be submitted in the Shields competition.

As you all possibly know, I love Aether, and Aether has some of the least amount of cards out of all the elements in the game. Additionally, the Spark seemed like a card that needed some more combos attached to it. I put two and two together, and, viola, the Energy Shield.

It brings retribution to attackers, especially mobspammers, by giving you a 50 % chance to generate a Spark with every attack. Obviously, Momentum bypasses the shield, but otherwise, a good way to add some muscle to the Aether element.

If there ever is a "Most overpowered card" competition, you might want to submit that one.

Hm.. actually that's not a bad idea for a card design competition. Design the most overpowered card you can imagine.

Ok.. back to subject..

Just imagine if you combine that card with Graveyards and Vultures? Yep.. it would be a slaughter.

But I do like the concept. In fact I love it. Just needs a nerf.

Ouch. Yeah, you're right. This is quite overpowered. Perhaps I should rename this, make it Light, and substitute Sparks for Photons? Meh, but Light already has 2 shields...meh.

And if there WAS a "most overpowered card" contest, i'd submit Zanzarino. Costs free. 500/500 with Immortality and Momentum. You may have more than 6 of him in a deck.

This card can be a part of a death/aether deck with aflas, vultures, and graveyards.

nice idea. usually people see energy balls as being useless as a card in battle. but this idea makes it so it doesnt take up space in your deck and it has nice concept.

BUT it must be nerfed. maybe reduce the % to about 15%

Yeah, agreed. The message I'm getting from this is that it's a novel concept, but overpowered in practice. I should probably nerf the percentages, yep. 15 % seems a bit low; 20 or 25 seems fine.

Thats the thing; my deck eats Sparks for breakfast.  Should I have a full field of skellies out, and a few Condors, I'll bet that my Condors will go up a number of points and still manage to increase my Bone Wall supply.

put some vultures on the field and a graveyard you will be unstoppable. maybe we should look for a way to nerf that too???
