That would probably overpower steal though. In addition, I thought of another use for Dark Gift / Grim Charity. Some new cards have a running cost, like Flood. That sap electum per turn. You could rig your deck such that when you play those cards, you can give them to your opponent since they effect both parties equally, but foot the cost to them. If they can maintain it, the initial effect and purpose is still useful, but if they cant or can barely, it would be a good way to control electum count. Kind of like Black Hole with a back up ability.

It is kinda a whole new game mechanic, considering the openings this makes for new cards and how to re use old cards. It could cause a normally good card to get OP'd real quick. A lot of work in beta would be required I would think.

Given that it's not in the game yet, probably "no".

And an even older thread: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,2214.0.html
It's a carbon copy of a Magic card (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=15168), so obviously it's been suggested lots of times.

Updated the OP with the data you provided. And if that is the case, I hope zanz might reconsider in the future. Although I can definitely see the difficulties that would need to be overcome to implement this effectively.
