Good point, didn't think on that a lot... There are few creature protection effects to go from other than SoFr and Quint, so its a little tricky to gauge the impact of this effect.
I remember seeing Zanz mention somewhere that he tends to start cards out with a high amount of power and then nerf and buff iteratively till balanced. By that scheme, it would be good to start this as a non-loboable effect and then make it loboable if it seems too powerful.
In either case, the effect should be handled like either adrenaline (not loboable) or momentum (loboable) status. I.e. this effect will not replace or interfere with any other existing abilities, traits, etc.
