If Jewel 1 sacrifices a Phoenix, +1 :fire per turn.
If Jewel 2 sacrifices a Photon, +1 :light per turn.

If Jewel 1 then sacrifices a Rustler, +1 :fire +1 :life per turn.
If Jewel 2 sacrifices another Photon, +2 :light per turn.

May ideas for more appropriate wording be suggested? Keep in mind that it must --fit--

How about: Sacrifice target creature, generate a pillar of its element.

Seems useless unless I'm in dire need of quanta.  But in that case, I don't want to use a card + quanta + a creature just to get a pillar.  Plus if it's destroyed you are really disadvantaged.  I also don't see the need to make it cost more than 1 Other quanta either, Essence seems needless on this card.  Essence itself is a neat idea though.

This can help a lot if you have lack of pillars at start and it can get you back in game if you had bad starting hand.

I was thinking of going the Temple | Castle (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,26948.0.html) path, maybe I could just let Jewel produce the quanta and make it Immaterial? What would be needed? Is that balanced? Should the playing cost increase in that case?

Turning creatures into pillars is already losing you slight card advantage most of the time (the only exceptions I can think of are creatures that already generate quanta and creatures that have been Antimattered), but the fact that it requires an extra card (Jewel) + quanta to do so makes it worse.  Since this card doesn't have any other purpose, I think the only way it will find any use is if it makes 2 pillars from one creature.  Otherwise, it's better to just draw a pillar than Jewel and/or keep your RoL as a RoL.

Wow, that guy ^^ sounds like an old school MTG player.  And to be honest, I couldn't've put it better.  Cantripping it would be a good short-term solution, so there's no net loss of card advantage, but it would be a tough card to work into a meaningful role in a deck. 

More importantly, while Mirror Quanta is the sh!t, and I mean that -- what relevance does it have to the mechanic here?

I personally think it holds its ground pretty well as such. Think about this.

:aether Sparks
:air Dragonflies
:darkness Devourers / Voodoo Dolls
:death Skeletons
:earth Gnome Riders / Iridium Warden
:entropy Schrodinger's cats
:fire Ash Eaters
:gravity Otyugh / Graviton Mercenaries

With the exception of :gravity Gravity, all other elements have a low costing 1-2 quanta creature which can be brought out almost immediately. If you don't get pillars soon, you take out your Jewel and BAM! Pillars galore!

Nymph Queen = :D

@Essence: I basically made it with Mirror Quanta so that multiples of these don't come out flying with Novae. It doesn't really affect the balance of it all much. But Mirror Quanta started here, and I like it. ^_^

That's actually a really good reason,  Hyroen.  And I like your logic re: the little creatures, but it still doesn't feel like I'd ever make a deck around it, which is always my question when i look at a new card. :)

Meh, not every card needs to be the cornerstone of a deck.  There are plenty of support cards out there, after all, and I could see this used in any number of bad spots.  Your creature got Antimattered or Liquid Shadowed (or both), poisoned, opponent cast a Gravity Shield, you have Malignant Cells to deal with, etc, etc.  At least you get *something* useful out of the deal instead of nothing at all (or worse, something that's actively hurting you / helping your enemy.)

Unfortunately Cantrips need to be much more restricted in ETG due to smaller deck sizes.
2 pillars per creature would be a good start.
