AHH! A big typo! Thanks for pointing that out, both of you.
Hatch is the ability currently in the game which is time, the only one of it's kind in the game, so i don't see a 'generally costing time' factor.
Darkness so far has been the only suggestion so far, with the reason being: fear of the unknown (very close to that).
What do you think fits?

Maybe if i used graboid more i'd have remembered that.

Not necessarily, since some creatures have the same ability but different names for it (See Puffer Fish and Parasite) - the ability keyword has to be the different though if it was to be impemented - best off being completley changed IMHO.

How about "Morph"?
