Is the scaling dynamic or is the attack is determined at the time the creature is summoned? To figure out if this is balanced it would also be nice to know how much is X.
If the card drains all it would need to count quanta from before the card is played. I'm not set on the card draining all quanta though. Could you guys actually see using this card? I really like the idea and don't want to give up on it so easily.
Considering that this creature could end up with over 30 attack if
pool is filled when cast, X probably should not be too low... maybe 5
or something like that.
Maxing out at over 30, even if it takes a full pool, is still a little to high for comfort... it practically begs to be comboed with parallel universe. On the other hand, at the low end, this probably is pretty inefficient since it essentially a vanilla creature after being cast and most of vanilla creatures give at least 1 to 1 cost to attack ratio... Maybe a non-linear scaling is in order here?
I like the idea of a card to sink excess time quanta into, since such things are lacking, and overall it seems an interesting idea... though I do agree with Cheesy111, a "Sandstorm" seems more like a permanent or spell than a creature...
I get the sand -
connection, though
and
could work well too. If you go with a non-linear scaling, it could be made based on all 3 even. Maybe something like "attack is based on combined
and
you own" or something like that.
All in all, though, I like this idea.
