+5|+5? God that's a lot. Sacrificing one creature for +5|+5 for all your other creatures and being able to last another turn in the duel? This is more overpowered than immolation was back in the day! The way you balance it is that the effect is random (can happen to either player), but I still don't like the effects of cards that are overpowered with 50% chance of success.

I think the balancing factor is that a random creature gets sacrificed, so that your opponent might get the benefit as well. Still, part of me wants to say Pestal or Pestosis + this = hell incarnate.

Unupped play mind you, giving each of them 5 atk would be devastating and almost an OTK in a deck that is supposed to be weak offensively because it deals heavy denial.

That would make the card in the unupped version an extremely underpowered version of Rewind that you can't target, and the upped version also a underpowered version of rewind as it basically does what rewind does, except places the card on the bottom of the deck, and gives the opponents attack a major boost.

Why Darkness?

Should a 1|1 and a 7|1 have equal chances of leaving or should they be ordered by hp and then by attack?

Why Darkness?

Should a 1|1 and a 7|1 have equal chances of leaving or should they be ordered by hp and then by attack?
Equal chances.

The mechanic fits Darkness. Many of Darkness's cards rely on taking advantage of an opportunity (e.g. Steal, Voodoo Doll, Nightmare). This card takes advantage of low HP and (to a softer extent) low number of creatures. Rather than completely destroying the creatures, it sends them away for a while.
The theme fits Darkness. When you think of a member of the community leaving, you may feel sad or hurt. Leaving is always associated with pain and unfairness, like stealing (permanents, quanta, or HP) is.

The theme and mechanic doesn't have a connection to another element.
It's not Entropy because the targeting isn't random; there's a method to the madness. In addition, the second effect isn't entropic at all. As for the theme of leaving, there's no way you can fit that into Entropy.
It's not Time because Time has nothing to do with low HP, and this spell doesn't deny draws like Reverse Time does. Since your deck is superficially unchanged, it's more of an insta-kill than one of Time's draw-manipulating mechanics.

Equal chances.
I did not ask if they have equal chances. I asked whether they should have equal chances.

Voluntary parting of ways (aka farewell) exhibits a significantly different type of sadness (pain) than involuntary parting of ways (aka theft) which produces feelings of unfairness. We should never consider it unfair for a member to decide to leave the community. It is still respectful to be saddened.
