So by "card" I assume you mean card in play correct?
(having played oEtG for a while now, I reflexively tend to assume this refers to cards in hand, but I think that would be a little odd here)

As there are only to players, and you stole it in the first place, the only one who could steal it from you is the original owner, so it just gets back earlier - and should not get destroyed

(I don't know why you would do this but) what if you stole it with the actual Steal card? would it stay or go back/be destroyed?
BTW you can steal your own card-I tried it (nothing happened).

(Stealing your own cards has effect in one case: if you steal your own towers. Then you get the extra 1/3 quanta again)

Logically a card stolen with Steal would not be affected by the effect of this card. That's simple theft.

With this card, you borrow the target instead
