Compare with the alternative versions of this card.

This whole thing is very experimental. I was thinking a lot about various issues concerning the cards. Now they're at least ready to be shown :D

The idea behind the card: I like the advancement in things over time. To get the Archmage, you have to run through two steps before, otherwise it's not possible to obtain him. If you do, it shall be worth the effort...

Why Entropy?

Randomness. Accident. Fluke. The Aspirant isn't skilled at all and has to learn. He causes 'chaos', which he can just direct a little bit towards his enemy. By spending  :entropy :entropy  the player 'pays' for the creature's experiments.

Why Earth afterwards?

Because the Apprentice achieved some steadiness after his early studies. He got solid ground, nothing is moving on it's own, everything he deals with is stable. Fire, Aether, Air...they are volatile. The training just consists of focussing on the direction of his efforts. By spending  :time :time  the player 'pays' for the creature's period of studying.

Why finally Light?

The Wizard is wise, gained vast knowledge, but is also calm and patient. Light. He can alter energy or use his power to assist his companions by tapping higher forces.

I hope you can follow my ideas, and might find some interesting point about these cards :)

I am curious as to what effects this entails.  Does this include spells and weapon abilities?   Also, all-bless is quite powerful, maybe reduce the stats or make it so it doesn't bless itself.
Rule #1: The Captain is never wrong.  Rule #2: If the Captain is wrong, refer to Rule #1.

What do you mean? :) If you are referring to the random effect of the first two cards, it's described under *NOTES*.

Also, all-bless is quite powerful, maybe reduce the stats or make it so it doesn't bless itself.

It is, and it shall be, otherwise there is no use of going through two turns waiting, including spending quanta for an average unit ^^ I put an alternative version by the way, the Lightning Storm variation ;)

And consider the Archangel, for example, cost of 6 :light for 7|7 and heal ability...I don't think that 8|8 is OP overall. The Blessing-thing, as I mentioned above, is something why you want to get the Archmage at all :D

I haven't thought about whether he buffs himself as well or not, but according to my description *all friendly creatures* and your concern I can say: No, he doesn't bless himself with this ability.

I like the idea of more cards that advance slowly over time and effort. This area of card ideas has been relatively untapped. I like the aspirant because it causes entropy affects which can badly effect you as well as the opponent. So can the apprentice's effects. But it is totally worth it to get to the top level. Good idea!
