Disciple/Savant of Life - Disciple Series https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=4115.msg40218#msg40218

hi, I'm new to this forum.

I always thought a creature to enchant the permanents would be a great addition.
I also like people of the cloth as a theme.
So here's an idea:

The art is a bit crappy, but I guess it'll do.

Nice work and I like they way the upgrade art is more developed.

A creature with enchant is a good idea, just like a creature with destroy is as well and therein lies the problem. Immortality for permanents is a great thing and having a creature that can do that provides you with inummerable options for making that happen. You need to remember that you can hold enchant artifact for up to one third of your permanents just in your hand anyway. I think maybe as a weapon this could be implented but as a creature when you can have them out on your field proably not (remembering these can also be used to stop hourglasses as the are as the can't be targeted although that is up for debate). THis is the same with cretures with destroy it starts to get a bit over the top.

As to the actual cards you have proposed:
The art is really good although some may neglect the symbolism.
The cost is ok but for the type of ability it has I would raise to 5 and 7
The ability on unupped is great and maybe on upped should stay with the 3 turns as well.
The ability cost is fine for upped but for unupped I would raise it by one.

Still the idea is sound and has much use just maybe have to do some small refinements to balance it more.

On another note. Welcome to the forums I hope you find what you are after and if you need a hand let me know.

Great work and well done

thanks.

I thought, if there is anubis/quint, why not this/ea. the main use for this would be card economy obviously.
for that reason I think people would like this card to be more affordable to be played  early on.
and it could be game changer in certain good draw scenarios.

I forgot to add that, the ability for the upped should read "... any skill as long as savant of life is in play"
that's more balancing than 4 turns IMO.
and if someone quinted a savant of life, they should be reap the benefits :)

thanks for the warm welcome, I'm just here to hang around.

Ok I see your point if it is tied into the Savant staying alive that could be very useful. I still think the cost should be slightly higher as it is a great ability to have and very useful in play as you have stated.

Many people will use this as the cost is even at 5 Quanta you should be able to play it on your second or third turn at the latest. This could be a bit fast for this ability but not OP.

Comparing it to Quint doesn' quite work as even immortals die from various effects (Fire Shield being one of them) but I see your point and there is no reason why you can't have this card in play.

Good work and feel free to hang around.
