Disciple/Savant of Aether - Disciple Series https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=4219.msg41526#msg41526

I'm sure many people have thought of creature stealing. I did too.
By the way, I like upgraded and unupgraded cards having different abilities, and different uses.

Oh, and to hypnotize another creature, previous creature must be dropped.

Disciple is basically a duo version of Arctic Squid.
Savant is very overpowered, I think. For 5 :aether + 2x :time quanta, you can control x amount of opponent creatures. Immortalize the Savant, and every creature your opponent plays is "stolen".

well.. yeah
difference is frozen creatures can be targeted.

I added extra info about hypnotizing because I couldn't find a way to implement it in the card text.
read: "Oh, and to hypnotize another creature, previous creature must be dropped."

Ah. That's better.

Parallel Universe would help here. You still have massive creature control, but at least its more limited now. I still don't like Disciple, as it seems a bit dry, but that's just me.

For the Disciple Icy has it right a duo version of Arctic squid and I would rather use the squid.

For the Savant I don't think I'd use it Aether already has TU and lightning takes care of most creatures.

The TU is mainly for making more Savants so you can hypnotize more creatures; either that, or TUing hypnotized creatures to get more power for attacking.

I'm not too thrilled about the disciple either but savant definitely has uses.
you deny your opponent of any creature for any reason. and gain that creature. and without playing a card.
get their firefly queen first. when they drop the oty, get it. when something worse comes, get that. without playing a card.

If a arctic squid is rare, then this would have to be as well. Never really got why arctic squid is rare. 3 water quanta to play a 1/2 creature and the same cost to freeze a creature. Freeze and congeal cost much less, plus arctic squid is really, really easy to kill.

Anywho, I like the uses for this, All those gigantic growth creatures...
