The unupped reminds me of the Suspend ability from TimeSpiral (An MtG set). Was that inspiration for this idea?

I do not remember good things about MtG phasing. (And in MtG your opponent could see the phased out card.)

What happens if 3 Travelers are assigned the same creature slot?

I do not think this is the solution you were looking for. A more indirect offensive ability might fit your goal better.

phasing your opponents lands is fun!

i do like the idea of a creature being basically intangible for a certain period of time. though with a lot of games coming down to speed and timing i cant quite see where having the unuped version would come in handy, maybe  it would find more use as a spell or permanent?

and in regards to the creature slot problem a possible fix would be the creature gains immaterial/suspend for 2 turns that way it still occupies the slot but it cant attack or be touched.

ive actually been toying around with a creature that is summoned to your opponents field so it takes up their slots, but it is still under your control.
