The damage reduction is 15 over 5 turns, so roughly equivalent to a 5-turn 3 pt. shield. It is weaker than that though because the number of enemy creatures tends to increase with the turn count. Still, it is interesting because you can chain it. If you want to, you can chain it every 3 turns and have a steady ~ 4 pt. damage reduction. Or chain it every 2 turns for ~ 4.5. Over all, it is an interesting effect. It might be even more interesting if it was 2*X + 1.

I think that damage reduction from 3 to 5 severely slows down the enemy, yet I do not want near-perfect protection from this shield since it has a strong synergy with Graviton Salvager.

I like this shield but it's way to powerful. Please don't even think of 2X+1 as damage reduction. As one said over those 5 rounds it has an average damage reduction of 3. Unupped shields usually have a damage reduction of 1 except the Titanium Shield and that's pretty strong. Everyone who has played that and its not destroyed it slows down the enemy severely. So an unupped shield that has 3 reduction is way too strong. I know i fades away over 5 rounds and is gone afterwards but consider that a common game usually take 7 rounds, so usually not more than one shield is needed. Additionally you can have more than once that shield in your deck, so you can even refresh that if it pleases you. Common shield have so many disadvantages over that shield. I'd recommend to half the effectness of that shield (however it's achieved) and/or increase its cost.
Tell me your opinion!

Compare to dimensional shield which reduces damage by infinity over 3 turns. 9 7 5 3 1 is not as strong, and definitely more interesting. But 5 4 3 2 1 is also interesting. It might just need to be cheaper than 5|3
