Immortal creatures will be fully effected by this Shield. I am uncertain if this will remove the immortal status but I would say it would. This would also count for burrowed creatures.

Ok so far I will be making changes along the following guidelines:

The abilty will change to the following:

Despair (unupgraded) 8 :darkness
Shield: Attacking creatures have a 30% + N% to be Lobotimised. Where N is the number of :darkness creatures you have in play.

Despair (upgraded)     8 :darkness
Shield: Attacking creatures have a 40% + N% to be Lobotimised. Where N is the number of :darkness creatures you have in play.

I am toying with the idea that the upgrade becomes protected in which case I will proably leave the upgrade as:

Despair (upgraded)     8 :darkness
Shield: Attacking creatures have a 30% + N% to be Lobotimised. Where N is the number of :darkness creatures you have in play.

That way it still costs the same, does the same thing but can't be stolen or destroyed.

Just some ideas.

Thanks

Not really it would be the RoL Hope of Darkness it would take forever just to get enough dark quantum's though

Yes you are right it will change a lot of strategies that are currently in use and most of all would effect Rainbow and Fractal Hope decks.

But that in itself isn't a huge problem. As already stated it doesn't affect your ability to hit so big creatures still do what they do.

I am unsure on the protect thus why I have added it as a toying idea. Maybe if it was it would have to cost +1 (9 :darkness )

As to getting enough dark quantums I can usually get this shield out in testing on the 3rd turn with a pest based deck.

Thanks

Every rainbow deck, maybe?  I can think of a ton of decks that don't rely on creature abilities to function - fractal devourers (lobo only removes burrow), any basic rush deck including shriekers, firelance decks, flying morning glories, Antimatter decks...

I mean, RoL Hope locks out any creature-dependent deck that lacks mass creature control.

i didnt know lobo doesnt remove passives but thiss would remove the immortalness of morning glories-plus i dont actually know many decks so its not such a sweeping statement.

That brings up an interesting question.  Lobo can remove momentum, if lobo is in shield form, can it remove quint?  Should it be able to?

Well in theory it would be able to remove Quint as well as Shields effect immortal creatures and Lobo would remove that status from them.

On another point Lobo removes both Burrow and Drain Mana from Pests.

Yes I did list it would effect Rainbow Decks the most but there are other options out there that aren't so dependant on abilites (maybe a Dragon Rush deck...)

At the moment as stated we already have a shield that can lock down almost anything that is dependent on one type of strategy so I figured I would get one that locked down another type of strategy as well.

Thanks

Last time I checked pests continue to drain quanta even after Lobo. It is a passive ability that cannot be taken away by lobotomy. Maybe it has changed but this definitely was the case in the past...

I think the following:

A Lava Destroyer is quinted
Despair comes into play
Despair removes growth but not Quintessence

Tah-dah we are done

Yes you seem to be right it removes the decription of the ability but it keeps on draining. Different I am sure.

As to Quint I am still unsure how that would work but at the end of the day at least it can remove the abilities off quinted creatures regardless.

Thanks
