Not if your opponent doesn't have creatures. Viruses can be used on your own skeletons, generating a skeleton from the virus death and generating a virus from the skeleton death. Retroviruses can't make that loop.

Well I'm assuming that the virus and retrovirus themselves wouldn't trigger the effect, since that's just OP.

They would trigger Boneyard's effect, but as we've discussed on this thread, they shouldn't trigger the effect of Dead Marches. Much like how Skeletons generated from Boneyard won't trigger Boneyard.

Exactly, but like I said, with both virus and skeletons, a potential loop could be created. Which is why unupped can arguably be better than upped. It becomes a power problem when combined with bone wall, condors, multiple boneyards, or multiple dead marshes.

Upped, it's basically just unlimited plagues (retroviruses will form again when the enemy's poisoned creatures die), but it's not more powerful than currently existing CC cards. And immortality will counter it hard.

Immortality counters ANY CC except fire and thorn, this just guarantees the swift, infinite death (which creates even more viruses, so just pop a single vulture in there and it will be growing immensely) to all non-immortal creatures.

Pretty much any shield can deal with any creature, although shields like ice and procrastination can't destroy them, but they can still stun them.

Compared to mass-CC, killing your own Skeletons with Viruses will be much weaker in most cases. Not to mention slow. Fractal Ball Lightnings is much faster. That it's an infinite gain for Bone Wall and Condor is not a real problem in itself, since most matches will be over by the time you've set the same combo up with Fractal Balls, for instance. Or any form of infinite CC, for that matter (Otyugh, Eagle's Eye, Maxwell's Demon).

Powerful if you can stall, yes. That'll mostly be in the upped environment due to SoG's. OP? Nah.

I'm saying it's OP if every virus death generates another virus + whatever other creature deaths also generate viruses. It's not OP with just the virus + skeleton combo, just possibly better than upped with retroviruses.
