Dark Gift / Grim Charity https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=4954.msg49311#msg49311

It is basically the negative version of Steal / Improved Steal. Instead of taking a permanent from your opponent and giving it to yourself, you take one of your own cards and give it to your opponent. The way I am looking at it, it would fall under Darkness (like Steal), and would cost the same as Steal / Improved steal. This could result in an interesting new game play mechanic that we need to watch out for.

Say perhaps, that there is a new shield absorbs all damage taken for one turn and delays its effects for 2 turns. (In two turns it deals the damage to you.) (Oh snap, another card idea, to mull over! That's what we call a two-fer!). You could use Dark Gift / Grim Charity to give the shield to your opponent after they attacked it and let them attack themselves. That is just one example, perhaps it could also have a dual purpose where it could either give a perm or give up to 2 poison damage that is already attached to your health to your opponent.

Summary:

Name: Dark Gift / Grim Charity (HolyHandGrenade) -or- Gift / Bestow (ScytherLoL) -or- Donation / Charity (assassim) -or- Donation (Luxus)
Type:darkness Darkness (HolyHandGrenade),  :entropy Entropy (ScytherLoL),  :light Light (assassim),  :aether Aether (Luxus)
Cost: 3 - 2
Description: Give one permanent that you own to your opponent. (possibly a secondary effect/option of also transferring 1-2 poison "tokens" attached to your HP to your opponent)

*minor major update*

http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,2881 (ScytherLoL's topic)

This has been suggested before by ScytherLoL in his topic, I was unaware of this fact and just would like also give some credit where credit is due (he actually did some concept art too).

http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,3240 (assassim's topic)

It has been brought to my attention that this has been suggested previously once again by assassim. Again, sorry for the repeat topic and credit also goes to him. (also provides some concept art).

http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,2214 (Luxus's topic)

Another previous topic where a similar card was suggested on the forums, this time by Luxus.

http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,4977 (ManOfManySpoons's topic)

This idea seems to have some legs to it, already spawning another branching topic of support cards for this by ManOfManySpoons.

P.S. If you know of or find another Card Idea thread pertaining to this type of game mechanic or specifically this card idea, it would be great if you post a link of in the responses. I will be happy to create a compendium of sorts for this sort of idea since it seems to be generally well received by the public and it will make it easier for administrators to work with the idea if they decide to do so.

Wait so essentially you're giving a permanent to your enemy how would this help?

Oh crap!  That gravity shield you're using is annoying!  Here, have a single bone.

Oh never thought of it like that but if it only counters shields (as I can't think of no other permanent you'd want to give to them, you could probably prove me wrong though) but wouldn't it essentially be better to just destroy it?

Well crap.  Divine glory played a morning glory, and I really don't want him to hit me with that.  I'll just give him a dagger.

That being said it's a situational card.  You'd probably need to find a good pairing to go with it.

In very convoluted and specific scenarios, it can be better than a Deflagration.

You have a field full of Photons and a Graveyard. You give opponent a Fire Shield, thus giving you double the attack strength.

This has been suggested before.

http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,2881

I do like this idea, maybe now that it has been suggested twice it might get implemented. What element were you thinking of? Personally I think this feels like a Light card, Scyther had put it in Entropy but that has Butterfly effect now.

The only card that I see working well with this would be something like "false pride" from magic (or whatever it was called).  This card, in elements terms, would increase your maximum life by 100, and heal you for 100 life, but if you couldn't pay 6 light quantums a turn, your maximum life points, and HP, would decrease again.

Now I know magic cards have no place in elements, but as flooding is already a card with a cumulative upkeep, I think a similar card might be good.

Extra time  :time
You do not have to discard for having eight cards in your hand.  If you cannot pay  :time this turn, Extra time is sacrificed and your hand size is decreased by one.

Just an idea that might go well with Dark Gift.  You'd use it, enjoy the eight card hand, and then decrease your opponents hand size greatly.

As this card type doesn't exist yet, however, I don't think grim gift will be introduced for a while.

LOLZ! This card DESTROYS Hope. Your opponent has a fully charged Hope out and you give them a solar shield. Or if they have a massive bonewall, the same thing works. Or a PAed Diamond Shield.

Or if their pulvy/eagle's eye is destroying perms/creatures and is PAed, give them your dagger/shortsword.

Hm...

Against opponents who love their unique weapons (say, Pulvy and Eternity), giving them a taste of your own weapon (vampire dagger, long sword, etc.) by essentially donating is a unique concept. It'll be a hard card to utilize effectively, but if used right, you can probably ruin a lot of false gods' strategies by having a 'fraud' weapon or card out (assuming your own permanents aren't affected by EA/PA).

...this would probably work best as a  :light card [Echoing Gl1tch's statement], seeing that you could effectively give the opponent useless permanents (solar buckler anyone?) to ruin your opponent's shields and weapons.

Just thought of this. What if its not a new card, its just what happens when you use steal on your own permanents, they get 'stolen' from you and given to your opponent. As it stands I like the concept and the possibilities but I really can't see myself putting Dark Gift in a deck. But if it were just another way of using Steal, well I can see myself doing that when the opportunity appears.
