NOTES:
This card is designed to be a counter to Fractal.
Basically, it works like this: You kill a single devourer with this card, then all other devourers in the field die (on both sides).
This card also counters decks with a lot of repeated creatures, such as shrieker rush.
You can also use this to kill those pesky malignant cells that are infesting your field.

Upped creatures don't count as copies of unupped creatures and vice-versa.
Mutants also count. A ghost of the past mutant would also get killed if this was cast on a normal ghost of the past.

And btw, this is my first card... hope you like it  :P (nevermind my awful artistic skills)

Nice idea and balancing looks good for me comparing with area cards like Rain of Fire. It looks very situational at first look, however there could be an interesting synergy with Nightmare and some cards taking advantage of death effects. Rain of Fire could work as well in most cases while being cheaper, but this is in-element with Nightmare.

Immaterial and burrowed creatures aren't affected.
And I'll probably decrease the cost too. Comparing this to rain of fire makes this look quite weaker. The only situation where this card is stronger is when the opponent's creatures have more than 3 hp.
For instance, imagine the opponent has 3 light dragons on the field. Rain of fire wounldn't even tickle them, but with this card you can weaken one of them (probably with drain life or parasite) until it has 4 or less HP and then you can kill every single one instantly.

I think the power ceiling of this card is way too high and deserves a cap. The thing is that, even with a reasonable cap like 4 deaths, you can reduce the cost dramatically to counter-balance the nerf.

Example: "Deal 4 damage to the target creature. If it dies, up to 3 other copies of the creature die."
Since it will in most cases only kill 2 creatures, you can price it at a reasonable 5 :darkness, 4 :darkness upped.

Another solution is for it to drain quanta (from you) for each copy destroyed.

Example: "Deal 4 damage to the target creature. For each additional copy of the creature, consume 2 :darkness and it dies."
This can be priced at 3 :darkness, 2 :darkness upped.

...Otherwise, I assume it affects both fields.

I completely disagree, but I do want a price drop, so...

I'll add the option of "Curse target creature When it dies, remove all other copies of it from play."

Wait.
I'm pretty sure that this card's extinction mechanic (as intended by OP) only works when this card (upon cast) kills the target creature. In other words, if you use this card on a creature with 5 HP, then you will not get the secondary effect, even if the creature dies through other means.
Can OP clarify?

Edit: I came across this conclusion from how the notes are worded. For what it's worth, I think it works better if the secondary effect can be triggered by other cards.

This does seem OP to me, especially since you can just weaken one copy of a target and then clear an entire field. I don't think ramping up the price would help much either (or I just think 8|7 seems nice). Working on this you could:

- Make it only a chance to kill each creature. I.e. , "Deal 4 damage to the target creature. If it dies, all other copies of the creature have a X% chance to die also." This makes it a bit less instakill but now opens the possibility for getting messed up by the RNG (on either side).

- Make it deal 4 damage instead of kill. I.e. , "Deal 4 damage to the target creature. If it dies, all other copies of the creature also take 4 damage." This makes it less powerful against buffs or high HP creatures. It basically turns this into a 4 damage Mass CC for certain creatures. Less fun.

- Add a cost drain per killed creature. I.e. , "Deal 4 damage to the target creature. If it dies, kill 1 copy of the creature per X :darkness you own. Remove all your :darkness ." A bit wordy but my favourite option. Plus it comes recommended by Pineapple (which is always nice).

Or you could just increase the price, or do nothing at all if you feel like it.

That said, this is an excellent idea, especially for a first one. I'm looking forward to seeing more :D
