To make this card, I had to borrow some things from previous card ideas.

- from PhantomFox I took the idea of a being in "disguise" so that the card looks like something else to your opponent. This is an idea I like very much. This is something Elements MUST HAVE.
- from Lanidrak I took the idea of canceling your opponents card. Well.. that's an old ccg trick but I gave you credit for it anyway :)

Using these two (and some of my own magic) I came up with Corrupted Pillar and Corrupted Tower.

The idea is that when you play this card, to your opponent it looks just like a regular Pillar of your mark. BUT if the opponent plays a card on his next turn, that card will be canceled and removed from the game (opponent loses the quantum).

You have to pay for the cancellation with quantum, or if you don't have quantum, with health <- (credit to slovenc555). What makes this cool is that you opponent can kill you if you have no quantum, 50 health, and he just spams 5 cards. :)

Corrupted Pillar will self-destruct after one turn.

Keep in mind that this is only a card concept. Because this whole process of designing and building the card took less than 20 minutes, I haven't thought about game balance nor any decks that could be built using this card. I'm sure there is at least one strategy that would make this card insanely overpowered. I'll make the necessary adjustments later.

You play it just like a regular Pillar, only you have to pay 3  :darkness . When you've played it, you won't pay again.

Why not make it a costless card that has a passive ability that costs those 3 dark quanta?

Ah.. you were suggesting an improvement? Sorry, I misunderstood. :)

Yes, that's a good idea and Kamietsu there is suggesting the same thing.

I made this a costless card at first but thought that you cannot pay later because of game mechanics. But my mistake was to think active ability with cost when I should have made it a passive ability with cost.

I'm going to change it right now. Thanks guys.

Glad we could help. I wouldn't mind seeing this card used. Though, when used against me, I'm sure i will be slinging off a few profanities from my frustration XP

I made the changes. Yep, it's 10 times better now.

Still now idea how it would play balance wise but the people who have seen my Hero Card thread know I never worry about those things :)

It's not too bad, balance wise. You can destroy almost every game in the game anyway in same way or fashion. this just beats it all to the punchline. But i could see how running 6 of these could get pretty frustrating. then again, it can easily counter itself. Whoever gets it out there first. and it only lasting for one turn really limits when you should and should use it, giving a nice strategy element behind it, instead of the "just play whenever you can"

I have another idea for the payment. The card removes one of your pillars, but the enemy can't see that you have plaied this card an for the opponent it looks like you have the sam amount of pillars.

But maybe it's not that good...

Maybe. If all of a sudden you play a pillar card that doesn't match your normal pillars you are using, say in a rainbow deck, it would look suspicious. But i do that already for my nymph's tears. So maybe that's what people will think? But it would definitely make people think twice about playing a card.

Well, if I by any chance would be using same pillars as my mark, the enemoy would obviously notice the lack of stacking.

Still, having him have to wait one turn out is powerful as it is.

10 HP is a bit low as well, with all the healing possiblities, especially for such a powerful effect as stopping a whole card no matter what. I could be playing a Phase Dragon and you'd counter this by just losing a measly amount of quanta or HP.

I kinda like this concept; it screams of "Ambush!" to me. :P

I do think making it stay on the field unactivated for a total of two or three turns wouldn't be too bad.  What if the opponent plays two cards, or you go first and play this one, and then he has a whole first hand to dispose of.  How would it know which card to cancel?

As for the disguise, make it take the appearance of your most used tower, or failing that other permanent.
