It seems like a very interesting mechanic, although I think that the upped should block one damage and delay the momentum creatures.

Can't see anyone packing these except against known opponents (looking at you, Akebono).  Specific counter to momentum only is too situational, this needs something else... too weak as is.

I don't like shields specifically blocking Momentum either.

ok, a twisty turning set of passages is the only thing I could think of that would hinder momentum.

you just cant make it through the maze quickly enough. It shouldnt stop them, just slow em down, smaller, 'slower' creatures navigate ok.


how does 50% chance of dealing 1 damage to each attacking creature sound? that covers every creature, its still a good shield for earth, I had originally intended to have a  :time activation cost, but I dont think it should target. delaying unblockables but not stopping them and a chance at damaging any attacker is a nice shield for earth, that compliments the Diamond/Titanium well

Adding the damage makes it feel like you took time and fire shields and smashed them together. How bout 50% chance for creatures to not attack, (they get lost in the maze kinda thing), and as for momentum, given enough of it you could just smash through the walls of the maze so I don't think it should be based on blocking momentum.
