I got this idea from my physics class the other day. A prism basically spilts light into various other colors, so i was like OMFG can't believe i no-one thought of this yet!!! Anyways heres the card. (ill make a pic or something for it later)

Card: Prism
Type: Permanent
Element:  :light
Cost: 3 Light (4 upgraded)
Ability: Refract
Ability cost: 3  :light (upgraded 6)
Description: Generates 12(24) quantum's one (two) for each element.

More info on prisms for those of you that don't know what they are

Bit too cheap for a constant Nova caster.

It's already 3x the cost of nova, and can only be used once per turn

I agree with camel up there. increase the cost a bit and it might not be too bad.

I like the whole splitting of light thing but the problem is that there's already Nova/Supernova. Seems a bit weird that there would be a "Nova Machine" in other element than Entropy.

Understatement of the week?

So, it's a 6x QT without the randomness... how could that ever be considered balanced?

The cost isn't that low if you think about it, for a rainbow deck to use this a person would first need 3 light quanta just to summon the thing, then 3 more to activate it once per turn. This would be hard to abuse in early game as there is usually a light shortage.

I see it more as a photosyntesis-like ability. It should produce a fire, a green, a blue and a purple quantum (rainbow-like spectrum) for some light quanta maybe..

Unupped FFQ spawning Fireflies. I usually get those out pretty early on a decently good game.

I like that a lot. Maybe the next series of cards could be something along those lines, where they produce a certain kind of quanta. Not like a duo pillar of course, you'd have to pay to activate the effect.

A rainbow, if these where around, could go with six of these and light towers. Even if you only get to keep two, that's still better than most rainbows can hope for.
Firefly Queen would be another option. A bit less offence than with an Elite Queen, but without the randomness... no more worries about being unlucky with grav/life/time quanta generation.

Orange: Gravity
Yellow: Time
Green: Life
Blue: Aether?
Indigo:Water?
Violet: Death
