ART: OdinVanguard IDEA: OdinVanguard NOTES: "Today is a great day to be alive" "All life gives rise to magic... but sometimes magic gives rise to life." Canonical quartet capstone card. The Spiritual quartet emphasizes dualities and the tie between magic and life (spells and creatures) quite strongly. This card is a nice tie in to complement the previous two cards which created spells from creatures. The unupgraded version will add creatures to your hand when you play a spell, allowing it to fill a card / creature generation niche. The upgraded version spawns the creatures directly (no need to cast them) however, it does so in response to enemy spell casting instead. This can allow it to also serve a soft anti-spell role. In either case, if more than one portal or gate is active, only one of them will trigger at a time. E.g. if you have 2 nether poratls open, your opponent would have to cast 2 spells to make both of them trigger. The first option. It picks each creature at random...
You could still get 2 dragons, its just a very low probability.

Thats only the unupgraded version so even if you do get 2 dragons, you would still need the quanta to cast them since they get added to your hand not spawned into play (like the upgraded version does).

Minor nitpick, but based on your description it's actually the second version.

2 out of x means that you 'pick one from the bag' and then 'pick another': x!/[2!*(x-2)!]. (1 out of x)*2 is 'pick one, put it back in the bag, pick again: 2* [x!/(x-1)!]

And I didn't mean it as hinting at being OP or something- knowing the probability - just clarifying the method.

Upgraded works on all spells, not just cc or pc, right?

Correct, the upgraded one will trigger of of any spell that the opponent casts.

The Nether Portal is the structure you build to obtain access to an alternate 'realm' in the game, the Nether. It's pretty much, like.. Hell.

Interesting... Not really the idea here... this is more like using residual energy from spells to power opening a portals / gates to let creatures through.
