Actually plants need water + light (sunlight). What they PRODUCE is Air (oxygen).

But if they needed water + light to grow, that would force you to play trio-deck or rainbow which is not so good imo.

Life already has Forest Spirit who grows with water. It also has Rustler who uses light. Hm..that could actually kill this idea. :(

The main problem, from a production standpoint, is that all these cards would have to:

1.) exist (for all intensive purposes in this post, we will assume this is true)
2.) be up for purchase in the bazaar or be a rare. I could probably see Seed, Plant, Tree, Desert Tree, and Mangrove all for purchase in the bazaar, with the other three as rares. Or just Seed and Plant in the bazaar with the other six as rares.

As for the upgraded versions of these cards? I would probably make the purchasable cards either cost less or have more health. The upper level cards are powerful already, and making them cost less wouldn't have much of an effect aside from having to recast them if they get RT'd. I would probably make their abilities cost less, from four quanta to three.

This is actually a great idea, even if it is a 'bit' complex, we can assume that later in the game there will be enough time to make cards like these. This idea has my full backing. And for the 'what will happen when i click on it' question, the card could just be spilt slightly in half, and one one side it shows one abilty, on one side the other and you just click the side with the ability you want, so this doesn't even have to slow down gameplay. This really would need to be a rare though, and have some type of weakness- like if it does not absorb one (insert quanta type here) each turn, than it withers. When it withers for more than x amount of turns it dies, or something to that extent.

certainly should be rare but how about this for a weakness?

change "plant" to "sapling"(to denote weaker stats) and make it 2/1, that would make all creature control methods either destroy it for at worst 2 damage taken(firewall/infections) or have it sit there lobotomized as a very weak card.

sit 2 turns as very easy to kill (seed - sapling) then one as hard but still possible to kill(tree), before getting to the nigh-invulnerable final stage, isn't too much difference from the growth cards we have now, if they grow 4 times, you're basically not getting them off the board(f. spirit will be at 10, f. spectre at 11, L.golem at 9)

I would like to see 2nd-4th forms have stupid high summoning costs to make it more vulnerable to eternity.

it would choose randomly the quantum (earth, light and water), and choose the corrisponding evolution

I like the idea. How about they go like this:

Seed -> Plant -> Tree -> Earth Tree/Aqueous Tree/Heavenly Tree

The grow from tree -> xxx would cost eight earth, and you would be able to choose which to become. My names might suck, so... yeah.

Earth Tree
Element: Earth
Cost: 14 Earth Quantum
Attack/Hp: 4/19
Ability: Dry Mud (lol horrible name): Change one water quantum into an earth quantum, can be used multiple times per turn.
Ability: Plant (cost: 3 life): Make a seed.

Aqueous Tree
Element: Water
Cost: 14 Water Quantum
Attack/Hp: 10/13
Ability: Water Drain: At the end of each of your turns, suck up one random quantum of the opponent's and create two water quantum.
Ability: Flood (one use): Generate 6 water quantum, and then deal three damage to the opponent for every 6 water quantum in your possession.

Heavenly Tree
Element: Light
Cost: 14 Light Quantum
Attack/Hp: 11/12
Ability: Sunlight (cost: 4 light quantum): Upgrade one seed, plant, or tree.
Ability: Reverse Photosynthesis: Convert two life quantum into one light quantum. Can be used multiple times per turn.


This would allow for many combos. Make an aqueous tree first to gain water quantum, then make an earth tree and start planting/converting water to earth for upgrading, then make a heavenly tree for faster upgrades and as a use for the left over life quantum. If "Flood" is too overpowered due to the quantum creation, just not include it >_<.
