"Do not neglect your study of the martial arts today. It may just save your life!"
The idea is to convert the players weapon into a defensive object.
Unlike a shield, this active imbued defensive effect negates damage from ALL sources, not just physical sources or spell damage sources. E.g. poison, voodoo, and catapult damage would be reduced as well.
This effect can work with untargettable weapons (like flying weapon and animate weapon) because it does not actually target your weapon directly, but rather imbues the elemental wielding the weapon.
If your weapon is already delayed when you use this effect, then the delay gets extended 2 turns (which will likely work to your advantage)
The upgraded version can also target your opponent, provide a means of dealing with high threat weapons, but at the cost of reducing the amount of damage you deal to the opponent.
note the "sqrt" in the formula at the bottom means "square root". Hopefully most players will recognize this. The calculation rounds down if needed, as is customary elsewhere.
