That was the solution I was looking for.  Doesn't seem like it would tax the database overly much, and could even be done on the client side.

Way too unreliable and situational.

Think about it. Unless one of you is playing rainbow, there is a big chance that you cannot use any of the cards your opponent has, making your card totally useless.

Also I imagine you planned on using it to take some good card from your opponent. So then why not take that good card yourself in the first place? Why the need to "steal" it from your opponent?

What I'm trying to say is that you would take one card, that gives you another card, that you maybe can use. Doesn't make sense.

I'd make the Recycle thing do something else

Like... you gain half the quanta that were used for summoning a card that just got destroyed, or something. Or create a copy of a card that just got destroyed, looking like an one-use permanent.

It's really just a question of if you would rather have the card be luck based, or strategy based. Of course pretty much every way the card could work would have both of these elements, but certain ones could be emphasized. If it's a random card you lost, it's luck, if it's a card you choose, it's strategy. I would personally prefer the emphasis on luck, because it's an element I feel this game lacks a great deal of. The only real luck is card order, quantum generation, and mutants. Unless I'm forgetting something.

It's not much. And I feel perfectly happy with this situation.
