A while back I made a thread about each card release having a plot.  It kinda died, but I got positive feedback, so here we go.

At long last, the great one had split himself.  These twelve great parts of him lived together.  But as the land became more diverse and complex, his great influence became diluted.  And new warlords appeared.  Down in the swamps of death, away from the rest of society, dark forces began to rise.  The plauge beasts, creatures that went against the laws of nature, crawled forth from the rotting wastes.
 :death :death  Plague Beast.

 :death Infect: Put a poison counter on target creature.  This card comes into play with one poison counter on it.
(This card upgrades to Plauge monster, which has three life)
None thought these evil lands could be tamed, but some loved the stench of death in the air.  Necromancers arrived, forming a dark society foretelling doom.

Necromance: Draw a card.  You may not use this ability unless a creature died this turn.
(this card upgrades to Elite Necromancer, which costs one less)
Many in this great society failed, eventually falling victim to the wastes and the pits.   But their cruel magic haunted them, and followed them to, and back from, the grave.

(Passive ability) Zombie: if this card would die, instead put it back on the top of your deck.
(Upgrades to Zombie, which has an extra attack)
And as the necromancers continued their dark work, despite the infection and plague and death and suffering and misery, they finally created the unholy creature they had been searching for so long.  And it killed them all.  One.  By.  One.
 :death 10 Bringer of Death (RARE)

If another creature named Bringer of Death enters the field under your control, sacrifice this one.  Whenever another creature dies, Bringer of Death gets +1|+1
 :death :death :death Devour: Kill target creature with less HP.  Bringer of Death gets +1|+1
(Upgraded version.  Unupped it's a Death Dragon Token, which is an artifact that does nothing.)

If this gets positive feedback, I'll keep going and maybe make these into actual cards.

Cards;
Plague Beast:
Similar to Chrysoara only it is Death exclusive. I like this idea but could be viewed as OP. The one balancer is that it dies after 3 turns due to its poison. SO this could work. Maybe the cost is too high for something that dies that quick but Ithink you have it pretty much on the mark.

Necromancer:
Great way to get more cards. The one problem I see is if I aflatoxin you then use thunderstorm you would have to draw 23 cards, meaning a: you deck out and b: you have to discard a whole heap. Can you clarify what happens in this scenario.

Zombie:
Not too sure how the return to top of deck would work. I suppose it is an automatic rewind and could be done. THis card I like a lot. Could have a lot of fun killing it with Otys, building up my ringer of Death and VUlture and boosting my Bone Walls. Basically a perpetual creature. nice

Bringer of Death:
Ok so when I first saw it I though man, massive. But just a few small things. It comes into play with 1 hp? This for 10 QUanta is a bit much even with the ablity. I am unsure how that would work as its an instant devour for me, or drain life etc. I like the mechanic on it where it can devour and scavenge but think the cost of the card needs to drop or the Hp be brought up to stop instant kill everytime you play it.

Nice work, love the images and the storyline.

I might lower the life from 3 -> 4 to 2 -> 3 to try and balance.  I'm kind of worrying about making sacrifice infect cards obsolete.

Nope.  Only one card, no matter how many creatures die.  If a creature dies, then it's ability glow thing lights up all pretty like, and if you click the creature you draw a card.

Hadn't thought of that combo.... but it's high cost, which might balance it.

Well, you can kill things before it's first turn.  Imagine dropping this and rain of fire on the same turn, or this and plague.  Heck, if all else fails, just play it with a photon friend. I wanted to have it start at such low health because devour and scavenge stack, meaning a single devour gives it +2|+2, and it gets out of control REALLY fast.

Just had a thought as i was reading your signature. Sparks.. Companion to Bringer of Death. play a Spark as it is a 3|0 the Bringer of Death can Devour it giving it an automatic +2|+2 which would boost it pretty quickly. Arise the mighty Spark,,,

Just another question on Bringer of Death. If the opponent plays one does it scarifice yours? I assume not but thought I should ask.

I think lowering the life on Plague Beast would be worth it, making it more difficult to keep alive. But if you were to do that maybe a random passive poison is better that way you know it will poison at least twice.

Zombie yes I think the cost is right, any less and we'd be in a whole lot of trouble..

Thanks for clarifying the Necromancer for me. So it just flashes and on your turn you may or may not use it's ability?

Your opponent may play a bringer of death.  I'm instilling the legend rule from Magic the Gathering on this one, because if you had six Bringers of Death all cooperating to puff each other..... Eek.

I'm going to upgrade the cost of zombie, as it with Devour means no deck out, no growth limit, and with bonewall you get serious problems.

Ok so it only scarifices if you play it on your field. thats good. (Like th Relgion Series as well we both had the same idea for Legend creatures... 1 at a time)

I guess I'll try my hand at another element then, see how this goes.

With all the chaos and destruction brewing, caused by the necromancers rise and fall, some began to fear.  Someone had to be to blame for the monstrosities charging across the land.  Someone had to be to blame for the deaths.  The mutants became the victims of a failing frightened race.  As riots built and broke out, any sign of terror only fed their cause.

(passive ability) Mob: Whenever a creature is mutated, Angry mob gets two points randomly distributed between it's attack and life.
(upgrades to Open Rebellion, which gains four random points.)
With the mob mentality growing, a world of cold bitter hatred grew, and those unfortunate enough to become victimized were abandoned.  They became scape goats for everything wrong with the world.

Mutants do not deal damage.
(upgrades to Exile, which costs one less)
But, a ray of hope shown out through the darkness, there were some who sought to help the mutants, heal the sick.  They came and started to fix the work that had been done.

 :light :light Heal: There is a 50% target mutant becomes it's creature type, and a 50% chance it dies.
(upgrade uses  :life :life for the ability)
And yet again, without the great ones guidance, constant chaos and attempts at meddling with nature unleashed a beast that should have never walked the earth.

(passive ability) Self-Mutate: At the end of this turn, Mutant King uses the ability Improve on itself.  This new mutant has the ability Self-Mutate.
(upgraded version.  Unupped is a Entropy Dragon Token, an artifact that does nothing.)



Not as good as the first time, but then again, nothing ever is.

:) I am loving your plot sets. This is really a great idea.

Every card is good. Mutant King is good, but does the creature that it mutates into still have active abilities? If so, can it use its active abilities on the turn that it comes into play?

Erg, you caught those?  I was trying to keep the secret for a while..... I'll put them back.

It mutates at the end of your turn it mutates, meaning next turn it's summoning sickness is gone, and then you can use it's abilities.  And if you don't, then just wait for better abilities to mutate their way around.

Here were the god ideas I had:
 :aether The Mortalizer. 1|5  Mortalize: During your turn, immortal creatures you control are targetable.  At the end of your turn, creatures you control become immortal.
 :air Drake Master. 5|5  Levitate: All creatures you control without an ability have dive for  :air.
 :darkness Spirit of night. 0|1  Empower:  For every nightfall in play, dark creatures get +1|+1.  For every eclipse in play, dark creatures get +2|+1
 :death Bringer of Death. 0|1  Whenever another creature dies, Bringer of Death gets +1|+1  :death :death :death Devour: Kill target creature with less HP.  Bringer of Death gets +1|+1
 :earth Tunnel Beast. 0|1  Whenever a creature burrows, Tunnel Beast gets +1|+1.   :earth :earth Bury: Burrow target creature.
 :entropy Mutant King 0|1  Self-Mutate: At the end of this turn, Mutant King uses the ability Improve on itself.  This new mutant has the ability Self-Mutate.
 :fire 1|1.  Firey.   :fire :fire :fire :fire :fire Enflame: All attackers with ability "firey" do double damage until end of turn.

 :water Tsunami Rider.   :water :water :water Tsunami: Destroy three pillars in target stack.

All of these cost 10 of their respective element, and die if another card of the same name comes into play.  All of these are rares, which can only be require by winning a token of their respective element from the oracle, and then upgrading said token.
