Artemis Fowl is fiction.
... and fiery angels, living statues, and dragons are totally real.

Artemis Fowl is cleverly done to be logically possible in real life

... Go read Artemis Fowl!! The Neutrino weapons have a setting for lasers that throw people back.
Laser ablation could work perhaps... at least on metal targets.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ablation

It would require an extremely powerful laser to get a high enough ablation level to actually cause concusive force, however.

Lasers (real ones at least) create focused coherent light. The photons of said light do indeed have momentum, but it is miniscule compared to that of a particle of similar energy.

Despite what you see in fiction and / or cartoons or anime, real lasers would not be able "knock something flying"

A beam of neutrinos might be able to do the trick, but that is NOT a laser.
Laser is an acronym for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation". A neutrino is not a form of light. (Artemis fowl got their terminology wrong on that)

Given that lasers deal with light, I think this would fit better under :light than gravity, or under :fire if you go with ablation.

I could see the laser blinding something... which would be a better (more believable) way to link with the stun mechanic.

If you still like going with :gravity , why not rename it as "Neutrino Beam" or "Neutrino Pulse"?
Whether the glass is half full or half empty is a moot point. It is always filled to the brim. It is only a matter of by what. The real question is: What fills you?
If your zombie plan is
kill -9 `ps l | awk '{print $2" "$3" "$9}' | grep "Z" | awk '{printf("%s ",$2)}'`
You might be a unix junky

... *you get shot in the head with a neutrino* "Right, and a TV stands for television, but I see you all using it as Traumatizing Visions."

... you wake up an hour later, wondering why you had such a strange dream about being concussed by a laser, which should burn, and why there is a roleplay in the forums, which is in the wrong section.

I agree name doesn't quite fit....Also beam seems more useful than laser, delaying a high hitter seems more useful than delaying a tankish unit...and for spell casters you want to delay they usually have close to equal attack/hp with the exception of otyugh

lasers [are] hyper-powerful rays of light, therefore they dont create a concussive form of energy, therefore they do not send anything flying. they heat up the area of connection and causes it to either melt or burn. this title is best suited for either light or fire, not gravity

Don't read any hostility in my post, but if you want your card to receive votes, its globality has to please the generic reader. And I will dare to say that this generic reader won't find the name correct ( = no vote) regardless of what Fowl wrote.

The problem isn't that this card is based on fiction (which most cards are), but that it's based on a very specific work. Something that's only on Harry Potter or LoTR isn't going to be on elements, for the same reason, though they're a lot more well-known.

Artemis Fowl isn't the author's name, it's the protagonist's name :p

Anyways, back to the card idea. "Target is delayed for x turns, where x is its attack / health". Whether it's played by AI or a player, they're going to use it on cards that have high attack / health, so how much the target is delayed needs to be limited a bit. Some kind of equation might be created to set a min / max, but x / 2 looks like a good starting point to me.

This will only be effective against dragons or other creatures with high atk

against life rush decks, immaterial, poison, this card is useless. I see no need in nerfing its ability

Delaying an otyugh for five turns is pretty powerful...think of freeze or anything as long as you delay for at least three turns this card was about worth jt

Come to think of it, slightly strange that this is a gravity card, and it works best against other gravity cards :p

Delay armagio for 25 turns... titan for 50 turns :D
