I haven't been keeping up with discussion(3 pages is way too much for me to read :l.), but some of these feel more like standalone permanents rather than shield enhancements.  For example, what does generating Horned Frogs have to do with your shield? xD

Darkness uses the opponent
Water reflects. Water is known for having distorted versions of other elements' effects.

However I agree the effect does fit Darkness better than Water.

For Corpse Pool, are we still doing (originalMiss*100 + N)/(100+N)?

So Fog Shield and 23 counters becomes (40+23)/123 = 51%
Shield with no miss change or no shield and 23 counters becomes 23/123 = 19%

It'd be pretty bad if we do 50 counters + dusk mantle = permanent phase shield..

No. Because it was too confusing and miss chances tend to stack my multiplying not adding.
Currently it is just *(N%)

I don't think it was a bad idea; it just needs some refining XP
Shields, so far, have few solid synergies with other cards (like Condors and the Fire Shield). For an actual "shield enhancement," I think we need to look at our existing shields and figure what new abilities can be added which can stand alone from shields but do enhance their abilities.

I think this series was a bad idea. The name "Shield Enhancements" kind of forces us to smack a shield effect (damage reduction, miss rate, freeze chance) onto a permanent. This is because any of the "Enhancements" will go into effect once per turn, with stat changes being permanent and stacking, forcing us to use effects that could also work on a shield, but then nerfing it because it works without a shield and we can't have these permanents overshadowing shields. "Shield Synergy" would be a far more interesting series, ie permanents that only affect enemy creatures and have effects that have synergy with the shields of that element.

I think the series does need a better name as patch stated, like "Barriers" or something. I also think changing the name allows us to expand this series into different mechanics like creature protection and whatnot rather than just focusing on defending the player.
