NOTES:
The fact that mutations could create a steal ability, but that there was no basic creature with that ability, always seemed strange to me. And when steal does turn up, it seems very overpowered. This is an attempt to create a creature with a different type of steal power.

The concept is that this silent figure must make it past enemy creatures to reach their target and will suffer damage on their mission equal to the total attack power of all the creatures in play - ie just like gravity pull, but only when the steal skill is used. If the Thief is killed, then they've been caught red-handed but manage to take the target permanent with them, resulting in its destruction. If they succeed, then they will probably requiring healing again before embarking on another mission.

I thought this card might have interesting different uses depending upon how far the game has progressed. Early on, there would be few creatures to block the Thief so he could nip in and steal pillars. In the end game, success is less likely unless he's been buffed with blessing or plate armour or nightfall etc, but a one off steal/destroy attack could be useful and at only two extra total :darkness over steal.

An immortal thief could not be targeted, but would still lose HP when using its skill and could not be healed again afterwards!

i like the idea but its op mabey make it do this every time it steals something it loses a few hp and if its destroyed it returns the items stolen and/or gets to take something (of his choice) from the opponent

I like the concept, but I think the active ability needs to be 3 :darkness.

That's almost exactly what happens. When it steals something, it loses HP based on the enemy creatures.

If it lives, the stolen item is yours (and it's yours forever). If it dies, the stolen item is destroyed instead (but only the current target, not past steals)

Can you explain why? That makes it over double the cost of Improved steal.

The only problem I can possibly anticipate is confusion with the wording.  "Steal a permanent taking damage from enemy creatures" makes it seem as if you can only steal a permanent which is receiving damage from enemy creatures (which is impossible at the moment, yes but will still confuse someone I'm sure).
"If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals"
