So this is what you came up with... not bad. Works great with boneyard and death effects. Not bad at all.

It is essentially a weaker Executioner.

Except I'd rather keep my brimstone eater for the quanta production.
Also since it is atk based you're sacrificing a large potential damage source, which I tend to see as negative here.
Also under most circumstances I'd probably choose a fire spirit/spectre
Ofc that's the mono fire perspective

Now duo'd with death, it's a bit more interesting as it serves as a cheap way to kill off creatures. As rut said this would combo very well with boneyard. However death already has vulture which does the stat gain passively.
Using them together? Probably not a bad idea, but I don't see it becoming particularly effective.

What am trying to say? Neat idea, poor for mono-fire, possible duo power.
Overall too weak imo.

Rather than cost, how about +X depending on its stats? (HP or ATK)
Because cost do not include buff or nerf dealt to sacrificed creature.

That's the point, especially in with so many growers and relatively efficient cost-to-damage ratios.

I feel that with this ability, it would get quite out of hand...

And a wording nitpick - change the first part to 'Sacrifice target creature you control to gain...'
Because at first, it seems that the sacrificing could be random, but then at the end it says X is that of the target. And the word target comes out of nowhere. S, it would be less confusing if you changed it.

I'm pretty excited with this. It could make for some fun combo's ... Pheonix / Vulture comes to mind.

The combo with SoPa and Pheonix would be fun as well.

Kind of reminds me of Chimera, just a much more subdued version.

I think it would be a very fun card to use.

Card should read +X | +X  instead of X | X.

Interesting concept.  I don't remember any other card that references another card's cost.  Sometimes higher than ATK, sometimes lower, so deck building requires careful planning.  Definitely a good addition to the game.
