Just noting:
Holy Light is an Elemental Hate card because it specifically states " or gets an extra disadvantage ".
Ascension is a hard counter that simply has an effect that happens to counter several cards of a specific type (in this card, cards , for another example Black Hole is a Speedbow/Immorush hard counter since it basically negates an SNova/Immolation and gives ~20 HP on a successful counter to boot.)
Anyway, on to the card itself. I honestly don't see why you needed to add the "Disable other death-triggered effects on your side." to your card - Spirit Bolt/ Lance seems like a good way to hold enemies at bay for a good time by itself and discourage enemies from using CC. Like graveyard, the card's best strength comes from expecting that creatures will die in a fight - which depending on the deck, may or may not happen.
Depending on his meaning for "disable other death-triggered effects on your side" this may or may not be a hard
counter... If the owners creatures no longer cause death effects to trigger, it certainly puts a damper (though the enemy could still kill their own creatures or use cats). The other it just makes life harder for the player using it (i.e. if its meant to stop the owners own death effect trigger cards)
At any rate, I think the better thing would just be to add "can only trigger N times a round" e.g. once, or twice maybe. That would help keep it from piling too many spirit bolts in hand in one round...
Honestly the only problem I have with anti
and
cards is that there don't seem to be any equivalents for other elements yet... although Blackhole is more or less anti
... and maybe wings could be viewed as a moderate anti
