Inspired by o_BLaDE_o's inquiry (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,3003.0.html) and by Squarciatempeste96's idea (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,1883.0.html) I present to you all the most thought out structuring of the Flying Shield concept to date, that I know of...  :P

In order to adequately balance this card to the best of my ability, I will analyze each shield as a creature. For an even treatment of all shields, they are all given 20 HP in Tables 1 and 2.

IDEA:
Hyroen
NOTES:
By far one of my greatest undertakings.

This concept has 3 main points to consider:

    1) When a shield is flying it automatically receives the Gravity Pull status and it becomes immaterial, so that it cannot be targeted. There are some exceptions:

*** Dimensional Shield | Phase Shield, Wings.
As brought up to me by RavingRabbid, as all the shields are immaterial, this would be really overpowered. Phase Shields and perhaps all Shields that have a countdown do not receive the immaterial status.
For now, Dimensional Shield and Wings will not be given the status of immaterial, due to the fact that they die after a variable amount of turns.

    2) All shields on the field as creatures are given the passive "Shield" ability and the Gravity Pull skill costing 1 :gravity appearing under their avatar. Shield passive abilities vary depending on the name of the shield.

    3) Shields are still affected by Nightfall | Eclipse. Skull Shield, Improved Dusk, yes if they're creatures, why not?[/list]CREDIT:

So, so complicated.  It does make the fly shield concept much more balanced since the flying shields will have Gravity Pull, but if it is taken off by another Gravity Pull nothing happens since creatures have to hit the shield in order for it to do anything.

I like this concept, even if it is complicated.

I think that the only shields that should be immaterial are the ones that already aren't targetable.  Vulnerability is the price you pay for having the ability to have multiple shields.

That being said, I love this idea!

Wait, so for gravity shield flying, do the cards with 6+ HP attack the opponent's HP, or does not attack at all?

    EDIT: Same goes for wings

@$$$man: This concept however doesn't quite stack shield effects on one another. It applies Gravity Pull to any shield on the field and renders them useless without it. I'm still trying to see if all shields should have a maximum of 10 on the field if Gravity Pull is removed, or if they should just die outright.

@Seiya:If I make them immaterial they can be targeted by Heal from Archangels and Basilisk Blood... Something I didn't particularly want. It could be possible though. I could have a vote if others want to see the shields without immaterial. I'm just worried about :earth nymph + Diamond Shield combos..

@Retribution: Creatures with 6HP and higher and non-airborne creatures will not be able to hit Gravity Shield and Wings respectively. Creatures that can hit them will eventually destroy the shield, at which point the creatures can begin attacking you, of course being subject to any shield in the shield slot. If they have momentum they would ignore the shield creature and the shield in your slot, if any.

Make all animated shields have the gravity pull ability? Otherwise their not much different from normal shields; would be fun if you could swap its effect away when a shield's health gets low...

I like that a lot Fallower, and it would solve the issue of what happens when their gravity pull status is stolen by something else.

Hmmm.... I think I'll change it to that, Shield being their passive ability and Gravity Pull being their active one, however that brings up another question. Should it cost aligned quanta or :gravity, as Gravity Pull is normally :gravity... :-\

I'll change it to :gravity quanta for now, and credit you with the brilliant suggestion :)

hmm? You need to animate the Dimshields, so the card slots are still used up.If you use this card on the last turn of the dim shield, just make the turn carry over as a creature?
