A while ago, someone posted a life/death combo card (something to do with locusts, I think). I, for one liked this idea, and here are my ideas for the rest of the elements. CAPITAL element means the element that it casts with, and the ability is paid for with that elements opposite, eg Torch is cast with LIGHT quanta, but Wink Out costs darkness quanta.
Costs are undecided. Brackets () means upgraded, italics means notes
LIGHT
Torch (Lamp) - Permanent
Wink Out - all creatures are in statis for one turn. Because they can't see. Destroy this card.
DARKNESS
Veil (Covering) - Permanent
Blinding Flash - all creatures are in statis for one turn. Because they can't see. Destroy this card.
LIFE
Agar Plate (Bioculture) - Permanent
Culture - start a counter at 3(2). When the counter reaches zero, generate 3 Viruses.
DEATH
Dirty Bomb (Bioweapon) - Permanent
Strike - start a counter at 3(2). When the counter reaches zero, generate 3 Viruses.
FIRE
Blaze (Conflagration) - Permanent
Consume - All non-fire creatures lose 1/1, water loses 2/2
WATER
Floodgates (Dam) - Permanent
Unleash - All non-water creatures lose 1/1, fire loses 2/2
GRAVITY
Red Giant (Red Supergiant) - Permanent
Implosion would be nova/supernova, but they're taken - Field is wiped. All creatures are destroyed, twice to stop boneyards activating
ENTROPY
Uncertainty Principle (Schrodinger's box Is that spelled right?) - Permanent
Observe - A random creature is either killed, or copied to your side.
TIME
Field of decay (Field of degenerance) - Permanent
Decay - destroy target permanent in 3 (2) turns
AETHER
Warp (Curvature) - Permanent
Distort - Destroy target pemanent in 3(2) turns
EARTH
Cliff (Crag) - Permanent
Topple blown over - two random creatures are killed
AIR
Tornado (Hurricane) - Permanent
Hurl boulders sucked into vortex, thrown out - Two random creatures are killed

I like the entropy one best!
-
Yeah, so do I. That's why I put it in there, although it would probably be best as an entropy-only card. I just couldn't think of an entropy version of the gravity one, though.
Would you believe that I got at least 10 people in my maths class arguing about whether the cat was alive or dead or both?
'Our definitions of life and death are diometrically opposed - they can't both be happenig at once!'
'Well that's the point!'
By the way, have you heard about quantum computers? I think they've actually built one, but I'm not certain. (They should be great for playing elements on, no?)
-
Why not just call the Gravity one "Black Hole"? It's been used by so many other people for that same ability that I don't think anyone has a (C) on it.

I know the answer to that.
The cat warps to another universe where life and death are meaningless and as soon as you start to open the door, it warps back :)

aether-entropy are supposed to be opposites, not enropy-gravity
quantum computers sound interesting
i don't think the abilities for life/death or light/dark should be the same, as it would still be the same card, but you could have 12 and they cost different quanta.if the life generates death then the death should generate life, perhaps 3 leaf dragons? or cockatirces?
i'm not sure what to do about the light/dark ones, but Time/aether are both very down-graded versions of explosion, and niether really fits its elemnt or the other.

Wrong. Go read the game intro. Entropy and Gravity are paired together, therefore they are opposites.
If you think about it, Gravity is the ever-present, never-changing force of ultimate order. And Entropy is the force of pure randomness and chaos. They sorta are opposites.
-
i'n my opinion that's aether, but i guess you're right, but again, we're getting off-topic

Gravity: A force that tries to make all the mass into one point, preferably a sphere, as it is the most organized, solid shape
Entropy: A force that tries to arrange all the mass into random, unorganized places
Opposite like a windmill and gingerbread.

I can imagine a deck now :
6 Deadly Poison
6 Super Giants
8 Bone Tower
6 Gravity Tower
2 Bonewall
2 Graveyard
3 Otyughs
3 Chargers
4 Gravity Force
Good luck.

The air and eath cards seem OP, and how would your card affect imortals/burrowed creature?

Well, they can't be hit if they're underground, can they? Perhaps they should bury them...

Dind't think of that...Destroys shields? Or just fantastically overpowered? I'd guess the second one.

??? ??? ??? Windmill and gingerbread?

i think its because they have nothing to do with each other.
yeah, and i think of aether as what everything is made of, sorta the base of organized creation
entropy would be the opposite of that
but i'm not willing to argue any farther.
anyway are the air/earth supposed to be 2 random enemy creatures? 2 random kind of seems like it would defeat the point.
-
Well, I was thinking of two random (any player), with a (possibly strong) bias towards your opponent's creatures when upgraded. Maybe a weaker bias towards your opponent unupgraded.

aether is a parellel universe in which massive plains of entities made of energy and power roam, not the building blocks of creation. read a book sometime.
