Maybe you're thinking of Dwarf Star | Neutron Star in the Forge Archive, but Dwarf Star does not intercept creature abilities, just spells played from hand.

I think it would be more reasonable if it only absorbed from opponent abilities.

I think the flavor is a bit more  :gravity as I see it as more scifi than fantasy.

For some more fun you could give it a small chance to do something wild on absorbtion.  Maybe change sides or turn into a singularity or cast Lucerfin.  Just a small chance to do something crazy.

Small chance to cast the effect on all creatures?

This could work well for something like holy flash which could heal your creatures and damage :darkness / :death creatures.
