I've always been explicitly against card that are insta-win or insta-loss, and that remains true. Even if they aren't OP (which this is), I just don't feel like they belong in the game. Besides being broken, they just aren't fun at all.

The upped would be an insta-win against any creatureless deck that doesn't have fire shield/ thorn carapace. The unnupped combined with BB is 6 turns of being unable to lose, which can make 36 turns of not being able to lose. Failing that, three (two if Lichdom passive) of these + mitosis + SoR + quint would give you infinite turns of never losing against anything without fire shield / thorn carapace. And you're gonna argue this isn't broken?

So no offense Frozen, but if you're looking for someone to tell you this card is stupid, just ask.

Did you miss the part where it effectively kills itself if it attacks?

That's why you use mitosis, the extra spawned Lich steals gravity pull and takes the hit.

So you spend 8 a turn to prevent being killed, and that's only if your 3 HP creature isn't killed anyway? Look, if you can sustain that quanta drain you deserve the win let's be honest. Unless you are using a deck designed solely to not lose, Lich will buy you at most 1-4 turns before it is killed. I count that as a fair tradeoff.

If we're using SoR/Quint, why not run Anubis? Anubis, sor, quint lich, quint self. Proceed to quint new liches every turn. Little expensive on quanta, but this all comes at less cost than Fractagon

edit except there's always the lich with mitosis so maybe not, but would remove need for Aether quanta

It's like you didn't read what I wrote at all. SoR makes the ability free so it has absolutely no upkeep. The newest copy will take the GP and die, but there'll always be one copy left to stop you from dying. If you get that 6-card combo out then its a win against everything but 2 (or maybe 3) shields.

Furthermore, you don't need to put the combo out to win most of the time. Using BB is enough to win most games (a 5-card win cast anytime, basically) and the rest is just to ensure your win against certain matchups.

It's like Dim Shield, with 6 turns. And blocks spells/momentum. And doesn't die to most CC. And stops deckout.

The problem with this card is that the only synergies it has are too powerful. The BB problem could be fixed by making it start with GP, and SoR mitosis could be countered by only allowing one lich on the field... but then it too has few synergies

Can only be countered by denial, Reverse Time, Shockwave and Gravity Pull. I don't like it.

Exactly my thoughts. And you might want to choose a slightly different mechanic- absolutes tend to leave a bad taste in card designers' mouths.

Easy fix. There can only be one Lich present on the board at a time. Make it a passive skill and wallah, no more Mitosis/SoR haxx.

I've been struggling to reply to these posts for a very long time.
Mainly because I simultaneously dislike this card and think the criticism for this card is... errrg.

So what I'm going to do
Is take the considerations of most of you people, and change the card.

Edit: Check the OP. Everything's nice and done. And that mitosis problem isn't really a problem as far as I'm concerned - As far as I care, if you jump through all of the challenges this card has given you, you win. That's fair in my mind, regardless of the bluntness and ugliness issue. I have not destroyed those combos utterly now, they're just not as easy to pull off.
