Well Anglerfish is meant to be weak, to sort of power Massive Anglerfish. Anglerfish is kind of like an upgraded Dragonfly. It makes light for the Massive Anglerfish to use in its constant upkeep.

I updated the cards however, making the constant upkeep easier to understand.

Increase the cost of the upgraded version, or decrease it's attack.

Well it costs 3 :water at first but an extra  :light :light every turn... That's pretty expensive imo.

A new card for decks with hope. It´s evil, that you can hardly kill, lobotomize or rewind them, but you can´t use the Fractal card. Good addition to water decks. OP? Don´t know.

I don´t like the upgraded version.

The upped version is OP, definitely. Even if you don't pay the upkeep, it's 18 damage over 2 turns for 3 quanta...

aside from that, there's no actual explanation as to why the anglerfish loses 3 hp every turn... cards in this game are supposed to be believeable and 'realistic' (in a fantasy world sense), and i just don't see the ability of the upped version to meet that requirement.

Shouldn't nature work the other way round, as in the Massive Anglerfish ought to take care of Anglerfish (plural)? Nvm that's not my main point.

Anyway, I concur with putting it out of fractal range, because I don't need all my massive Anglerfish to survive. Can always just feed only half of them and use the rest as...improved Ball Lightning. Honestly when I saw the name of this thread I was thinking isn't anglerfish the one that lives in the Amazon and hunts insects above the water by shooting a stream of water at them...and I was expecting a sniper ability, but obviously you weren't intending it that way. Interesting card, especially the concept of synergy between upped and unupped, but needs balancing.
