The mechanism is indeed very different from nightfall. But it also look less powerfull. Why would you play this over other buff mechanism and nightfall (massbuff) in particular?
Now that i think about it, you're right, this is very underpowered compared to nightfall. Even against decks with many creatures... Would making it stack (as in, more ambitions = More bonus) make it too powerful?
This makes sense but my question was more on a general thematic point of view. To me ambition is not the way of the shadow. Moreover, I don't really see how your ambition can makes you profit of your opponent assets ...
Ambition, to me, results in darkness : you want to be more powerful by hiding and doing what's realy important outside from everybody's eyes, because you do not want to be seen getting power, because others who want it would stop you.
As for making profit of your opponents asss, the biger your opponent, the bigger your want to fight (ambition scales with ennemy power). It's a mental benefit.
