Before you do anything else - This is meant to work with
SevenSapiens's Card Builder and his separate
Clean Element Template, so download that first if you haven't already.
Quick Template1) Open up one of the following blank border pairs.
2) Paste your background as a layer under the card.
3) Save you template as a PNG. You're done! If you want to make a custom template and your own cards, see below.
Making your own Template1) Go to
Planplan's Card Editor, and create a Blank card by clearing all the fields and unchecking the "Cost Icon Box". It doesn't matter what Element card you use, but I usually prefer Light since it has the least going on in the background IMHO.
2) Go to the
Pixlr Editor, and open up your card.
3) Find a relatively simple image that you want to use as your background. I'll use this image from
www.sxc.hu as an example.
4) Open up your selected background image.
5) Going to the "Image" button on the toolbar, click "Image Size". Uncheck "Constrain Proportions", and set the background image's size to width 289 , height 443.
6) Select the Marquee tool (The dotted box, next to the lasso), and drag a box over your entire image.
7) Select "Edit" on the toolbar, and "Copy".
8] Move to your image, and go to "Edit" and "Paste".
9) Move to your "Layers" box. Hit the square button (circled in yellow), and you'll get a little dropdown menu. From here, you can mess around with various options - the most basic option you can try is lowering the Opacity, but if you click on the Dropdown menu (circled in green), you'll get a bunch of various options to play around with. Try to mix and match various layer settings with various opacities. (This also allows you to customize your border a lot more than the Quick Template Method.)
10) When you're satisfied, select "File" and "Save". Save your card as a PNG.
11) Congratulations, you've made your template.
How to make your mark1) Copy and save this file to your computer :
:otherbig
2) Open up
Pixlr Editor. At this point, you're free to design whatever mark you want with the paintbrushes you have. You can also try looking around the forum's
Card Art section - many users have made marks of their own and if you ask, they might allow you to use their marks.
Here are threads with marks you can use :
Mark Merging - Large amount of combined marks on the first page. There are also unlisted ones if you go further in the thread, but any marks not made by EvaRia you should ask permission to use.
Dual Marks - Marks for Dual-element cards here.
Make your own Elemental Marks! - There are a lot, but they're spread throughout the thread. I recommend you ask the creator before using them.
Element Marks Vector - Has all 12 Original marks + Underworld. Great if you want a starting "base" to build your custom mark off of.
Putting it all together1) Open
SevenSapiens's Card Builder, and select the "Clean Elements" template.
2) To load your template, double click anywhere on the edge of the card (Blue area). Open up your card template.
3) To load your mark, double click on the little mark box. (Circled in green.) Open up your mark.
4) Congratulations, you've made your Pseudo-Element template. Feel free to make whatever cards you want from this template, and feel free to submit them - they'll be added to the
Pseudo-Element Crucible.
I hope this helps everyone in their PseudoElement creations. If you have suggestions on how to improve this guide, feel free to post here!
Special Thanks to SevenSapiens for his card maker and blank template.
