This doesn't destroy anyone's natural mark (But it does prevent marks from being cast and destroys unnatural marks, screw your gaudiness)
This effect is symmetrical; You can't play rares and your rares get destroyed too.
The unupped has a basic +2 | +2 to a creature in case you're playing against a deck that this card is not good against or if you draw a second one - it's not as strong a piece of hate, but it's useful when you don't need the hate.
The upped absolutely obliterates the playing of rares and isn't time-sensitive - you don't need it down ASAP.
It loses versatility as a result.
This card allows life's rushes to deal with key irritating cards such as Squid, Lobo, Eternity, SoSac, and SoPa. Its stall decks can find it a little awkward due to the prevalence of the staff and SoGra, but it adds ways to deal with a variety of cards such as Pharaoh, Nymphs, and Miracle that Life didn't have an answer to. It's not so much synergistic with life's cards as it is synergistic with life's decks.
