NotesWell, It's simple. AFTER you use this spell on a creature, it must not be a target of anything, or it explodes dealing 20 dmg to the caster (of the spell that exploded the creature) and 1 dmg to every creature on the feild. Abilities in this case include: Creature abilities, permanent abilities (reverse time, stasis, thorn carapace...) and spells. Also nullifies the spell effect (So the fractal doesn't produce copies, atafloxin doesn't produce cells...). Would be marked or something (like adrenalined creatures for example)

CURATOR COMMENT
To get this card approved for the competition:
-Fix the table sections - you do not need to bold and enhance the font size of the categories (Element, Ability, etc.)
-Add the 'Name' section to the table (Do not remove such vital parts of the table please!)
-Capitalize 'Spell' in the Type sections of the table
-Fix the discrepancies between your card text and the Ability description in your table
-Reorganize the table to have the correct categories in order: Name, Element, Cost, Type, ATK|HP (left blank since it's not a creature), and Ability
-Fix the title so that it matches the card threads found everywhere else, in the format of 'X | Y', where X and Y are the respective names of the non-upped and upgraded forms.

...does this card account for 'AOE' targeted abilities such as Rain of Fire, Unstable Gas, or Pandemonium?

For balance reasons, it shouldn't trigger off things that would normally be able to target an immaterial creature. Rain of fire can't target an immaterial creature, so it should trigger of that. Thorn carapace/fire shield, however, can target an immaterial creature, so it should not trigger shard of caution's buff. There's no reason why you should be able to unstable gas, at your control, same turn, just by attacking into an opponent's shield, for 3 random quanta, without the opponent's input in the matter.

Careful... Careful... Careful... BOOM!

LOL. I find this card hilarious. Very innovative way to apply the virtue of caution. :P
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

-You still need to capitalize the word 'Spell' in your table for the 'Type' section of your upgraded card. ;)

(This is a handy card against Unstable Gas users, now that I realize it. Heh.)

The effect of this card reminds me of the word volatile, which, when taken by the meaning that I'm using, means "something that, if touched, is liable to explode".

In my opinion, Shard of Volatility would be a better name for it.

Correct. "Volatile" is not a virtue in any case of the word.

This is by far my favorite shard for the competition so far.  Pretty well balanced, and allows other elements to harness the power of Unstable Gases without splashing in Air.

Very well done.
Else known as "JonTheBon"

I also make videos and stuff.

Can this be cast on an opponents Creature?

How do you relate a creature blowing up to the Virtue of Caution?
