NAME:
Shard
ELEMENT:
Other
COST:
1
TYPE:
Spell
ATK|HP:
ABILITY:
It looks like a crystal shard. It seems to be useless, but it might be upgradable.
NAME:
Shard of Philomathy
ELEMENT:
Other
COST:
4
TYPE:
Permanent
ATK|HP:
ABILITY:
Immediately end your turn and then immediately end opponent's turn after he draws card and plays 1 card.
ART:
Zanzarino (probably)
IDEA:
Thalas
NOTES:
If opponent has a full hand he will discard a card

Your creatures attack when you end your turn.

Opponent's creatures attack when you end opponent's turn.

Could be useful at the beggining of battle to gain quanta

Could be useful at the middle of battle to shorten permanents duration

Could be useful at the end of battle to give a killing blow to the opponent

What happens if you steal shard of philomathy? If you steal it, the effect from shard of philomathy dissappears, and you can use shard of philomathy next turn, like golden hourglass.

Your opponent can end his turn normal way, without playing a card.

Sort of the same thing as ending your turn regularly.

This is the most strategic shard idea I have seen yet.  It can work against miracles, with nightmares, poison, work against opponents abilities (say you direly had to get an eternity out for the next turn use but your opponent had a pulverizer out.), it is a great staler.  Seems like a clutch card for tight battles.

I like the idea a lot, but I have reservations about it.  Mainly, its common use and the priority it would have for me to include it into my deck.  It would be a great tournament card.

So this card forcibly causes your opponent to lose a turn? you can use all of your abilities before playing but your opponent cannot. Do creatures Attack during your and the opponents turn?

Seems overpowered. If your oppnent has no permanent control, they lose. Even as a spell it's overpowered. You'd just play one of these to end your first few turns, depending on how many you drew, and your opponent wouldn't be able to play a single card for several turns, but they'd have to discard. They'd only get a little quanta from their mark, but if you have devourers, that doesn't matter.

Yes creatures attack
Okay I nerfed Shard of Philomathy but I can't decide which one is better because shard are supposed to be overpowered

Card: this way opponent can at least play one pillar or destroy or steal shard of philomathy

What happens if you steal shard of philomathy? If you steal it, the effect from shard of philomathy dissappears, and you can use shard of philomathy next turn, like golden hourglass.

Can I now as the victim of this card, not play anything from my hand until after I've used alll my abilities on the table? Thus effectively having a full turn as long as I don't need to dump my hand?

A Philomath is a Lover of Learning. How does this card ability relate to this virtue?

Learning what your next card and turn will look like in a faster process?  Thats a spin.

Um.. so basically you end your turn and your opponent can only play 1 card? that seems... useless.

CURATOR COMMENT
This Card is Crucible Approved for the Shard Madness! Competition.
Edits of this card after this post may Void Approval.

As Kael has said, this card doesn't really click with the idea of 'Philomathy' in my opinion, which may result in your card getting lesser votes (possibly). It's sort of a mix between Sundial and Nightmare, which is interesting, but still a bit weird.
